Well...went to buy an upgrade for my Adobe products to take them to CS3. Went through all the looking to see what qualifying products I could upgrade from and got a cost (all online) to do so.

Went through all the payment stuff and get a message saying I'll get an e-mail from the store when my card gets charged etc etc

Got the e-mail, it says

Adobe Store Manager wrote:

Unfortunately we were unable to approve your order in the Adobe Store.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Department:

Unable to approve my order (they didn't even try to charge the card, so I know its not a problem with the bank!)...no explanation, nothing...I just get to call them to find out why...ah well, another lost sale for Adobe, next stop torrentspy.

Why do they do that? I'm trying to actually BUY software and theres an approval process...am I not good enough to own Photoshop and Dreamweaver?

Trying to buy it from the US store?

Could be that, I know they don't let european's buy the US versions, they prefer you pay the inflated rip-off euro price.

Definately buying from the UK store - the version I want is available so I thought I'd go for it.

Buying it - yes - I pay for software I use and find useful...I have no problem downloading for extended trials etc etc, but I'll support the software industry when I find a good product that I use all the time (and I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver every day)

Same with games - I quite often download to play and try out (who wants to pay for something they might not like and can't get a feel of from the demos) but will always buy a game that I enjoy or play regularly.

Some say stupid attitude, some say enlightened Wink I say it suits me Smile

Nah, that's cool you want to pay for software, even if it is completely overpriced. If everyone downloaded Photoshop from torrents, what would be the point in Adobe making these products?

Exactly - but I'm only going to buy it if they actually let me and as they can't seem to sell me a product that I'm willing to pay for then screw 'em - I'm not that overly fussed if they can't get their act together.
