,gave a lot of choke this morning, then closed the choke.as soon as i did this, bike started stuffing up,gave a bit of acceleration, lots of smoke, sluggish feeling.then more acceleration until smoke cleared.however, still no joy.drove up the road in second and then third with hard acceleration, but when i came to a set of lights shortly ahead,it again cut out.i had to give it a good run before it eventually resolved itself from cutting out.any help on this pls

Dave

Sounds like you just grotted up the plug by leaving the choke on for too long. Not sure what you have, but most bikes can happily come off the choke well within a minute.

Mine does the same, I leave it for a few minutes with the choke out, put it in, rev it around then go hard up the road.... When you come to a stop make sure you keep revs high when you pull off, it should clear by the next time you stop.
