Hi

Most of the time you were bimbling along at 60 while I was following. Oh, and Dodds, now you have a bike that will keep up with traffic dont be afraid to take up a position towards the centre of the road. If you are too far accross to the left it only encourages cars to try and squeeze past you. Sit out towards the white line and force them to overtake properly if they want to.

All the best

Keith

If someone wants to overtake you let them worry bout that.

Yeah, you should only ride in the gutter if you know that you're not capable of travelling at the speed limit...as much as I hate 'peds, I dislike it more when they are in the left hand side of the road, riding 30mph in a 30 zone...the temptation to overtake is just too great (I'm talking about when I'm in a car by the way)...and the to$$ers behind all tailgate me as a result...

...and as McJam said, if someone wants to overtake, then that's their problem...

Hi

Yes, Dodds, most of the time the bike behind you was me! If you are doing a reasonable speed then sit well out so that anyone who wants to go past is forced to overtake properly. It wont affect anyone who would have overtaken properly, and it stops idiots trying to squeeze past and forcing you further into the gutter. You can always pull over and back off, waving them past when you are happy to be overtaken.

As to the avatar, just pick up the picture from my site of your bike and edit it, or if you want I can try. Oh, Anne, there is a picture of you there!

All the best

Keith
