I really like the majority black and white design. It's a shame the vents are Ti-Tech silver and not coloured into the paint work like Rossi's actual race helmet though.

£329 on preorder at www.RaceVisors.co.uk with a free extra visor, due in June. I'm very tempted.

I've got a Shoei XR-1000 Diabolic and am very happy with it and I like this AGV because of the black and white design. Not sure about the number and initials though, but I can live with those, it's the silver vents that are its biggest let down for me.

Apart from my Shoei I've never tried any other helmet, so will try an AGV Ti-Tech to see how it feels before I definitely decide.

Goths are well known for wearing illuminous yellow Laughing

Buying a helmet just because it replicates a well known racers lid is a bit sad. Just don't talk yourself into buying it if it doesn't fit well.

I had a rossi rep lid a few years ago, problem with them is they go out of date too quickly cos the git is always changing his lid design.

Also, I find that the more flashy the lid, the quicker I get sick of it, which is why my last couple of lids have been black or at least relatively simple and tasteful.

But if you really like it, why not? Thumbs Up

Ive had an AGV and an XR1000. The AGV is piss poor in my book, the noise is horrendous, the steaming up is a pain in the arse and it never got as good in the tests as the shoei. I put my own shoei to the test a few months ago and I will be buying another one next week!

I've got an AGV GP Pro as the TiTech was too expensive, still a f**king nice lid mind Razz

Either way i think i've just fallen in love with that lid. But be sure to get the 46 airbrush out, i can't STAND the pricks who wear Rossi lids and think they ARE him!!

Might get GP Pro done with that scheme though, it's sex.

I dont know if its just me, but i recon one of the sexiest lids is the Shoei Raid Strike. It used to only be £200 brand new, but i never really had £200 spare Sad I dont know if they still make it these days - anyone know anywhere to get them?

I don't know, that's the name AGV used for it on their web site.

I wouldn't buy it because it's a Rossi replica, I tend to avoid such endorsed products, like basketball boots for example; I will not buy boots that are a players branded shoe like Jordan, LeBron James, Shaq, Allen Iverson, etc; it's the black and white design of this helmet that I like the most. My leathers, and preferred colour choice, are black, silver and white and that's what attracted me to the Shoei XR-1000 Diabolic.

I'll wait until I've tried on a Ti-Tech and seen the Gothic 46 design up close before I make my decision; the number, initials and silver vents might be too much for me.

I reckon Rossi could do with a few more sales of his lid to boost his performance. I was tied between the Ti-tech and XR-1000 too but chose the XR in the end because it felt that bit lighter.

It's finally out, but the silver vents are showstoppers for me; why could they not have blended them into the design like Rossi's actual helmet or at least made them transparent?

Not a fan of AGV lids since the only one I've had disintegrated on the inside, but seriously - that replica looks cheap and nasty.

Sick

Seriously dude, calm down about the silver vents. Even after 3 months I'm suprised your still on about them, you can't even see them Laughing

There's no way I would swap from a Shoei to a AGV just for the design, which by next year will look dated anyway.

Do you really think the tat they sell to the public is the same they give to pro riders along with a big, fat backhander?

"I won't buy another AGV EVER as mine which i owned one day disntegrated from the inside out - a bit like internal combustion, which is true, although I dont know what model it was, but it was AGV... I think..... yeah, I paid a whopping £200 for it - it should have lasted for ever. When it disintegrated I didnt take it back to the shop - I just let it go...."

Laughing

Slate a whole brand because of your claims, which you can't even back up with a model, on a lid that cost middle weight money?

I just like the alternate black and white sun and moon design. I could buy a white Shoei and just use that part of the design, as I can live without the number, pattern on the back and the luminous yellow parts.

At £400 I'll pass though, but I'll keep on eye on it to see if the price drops like replicas can do when you see them at bike shows for example.

Pretty much, yeah.

You can suck AGV's marketing cock if you want, Slick.

I finally saw the black and white Gothic on Sunday at the new George White. The colours look better in real life than in pictures and although I still don't like the silver vents they don't look as bad as I first thought.

My partner still wants to get me something for Christmas so I said why not put that money towards this helmet. I might be getting it on Friday.

The only helmet I've got/worn is my Shoei XR-1000 and the AGV felt quite snug in comparison and the chin piece was much closer to my chin than my Shoei's. I tried on the S and XS sizes, my Shoei is an S, and the S didn't feel too big and the XS didn't feel too small so I'm torn as to which AGV size is going to be the better fit in the long-term, but it's probably going to be the XS. I can't remember how the Shoei S felt when I got it and I don't remember trying an XS to compare it with the AGV, and obviously my own Shoei has moulded to the shape of my head now.
