I'm really on the idea of a streetfighter now. I could get a cheapo unfaired bike and make it look cool without too much cash. Or better still, a crash damaged one that just needs a nice little fairing put on and a wicked paintjob. Seems I'd have a bike that stands out while being low on the insurance

BTW, me and Annabella saw a mint CBR900 streetfighter, single sided swingarm, cool fairing, no speedo and a ace light blue paintjob. The numberplate was put behind plastic in the middle of the bike if you know what I mean, like near where the swingarm starts, cuz the tail had been lifted really high

Oh god damn - that thing was sooooo gorgeous. I think we spent a littlwe too long drooling over it, cos the guy moved it shortly afterwards (,maybe he was concerned for the paintwork?)

The blue one was pretty neat too....The one with the strange bikini fairing thingy and digital speedo that looked like a wrist watch? The black one was by far my favourite - it was jacked up so high I couldn;t have reached the seat if I'd tried! And those twin under seat Achrapovich (bleh, can't spell)exhausts.........Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm thinking of getting something cheap and nasty (read gsx250 or cb250) after i pass my test and streetfightering it a bit, at least paint job, belly pan and headlight/headlight fairing.
anyone ever tried anything like this, is there anywhere with parts apart from m & p?
also, how do you make a slow 4 stroke go faster?

How to make a 4 stroke 125 go faster???.....one of two things.....

1) Sell it and buy either a 2 stroke 125 or a bigger 4 stroke bike.

2) Buy a grapple hook and swing it and attach it to a milkfloat. Actually on second thoughts, you need to be able to catch the milkfloat in the first place............

no a 4 stroke 250 - theres a cb250 rsa (not a superdream, its better) near me for 400 quid, and its not selling. i can probably knock the guy down to 350 and get 850 to 900 for my NS125R-K.
the problem being its still only a 90 mph bike, and i want to push that up a bit. i was thinking bigger carb, better exhaust, k & n filters, then streetfighter it, so it would be the fastest cb250 you ever see.
any ideas?

Hi

CB250RS is nto a bad bike, but getting old. They had a habit of wrecking the heads (cam and head become a one piece unit), electrics arent great, and they will cost you a fortune in chains. If you can find one (they are rare) then get a CBX250, which uses a 4 valve head. Noticeably quicker and more reliable

All the best

Keith

i've been on the lookout for a cbx, but they are really thin on the ground. the one near me is a cb250rsa, the kickstart model. i've haerd the electric start is shit anyway and strips its gears if the battery gets a bit low.
can i get a stronger chain for it? this one has a new chain and sprockets, but its not something i like replacing often.
and anyway, for 400 quid then 300 quid insurance, you can't go wrong.

Hi

Not sure about the electric start. The engine is basically out of the XL250.

The reason they destroy chains is that they are singles, and have definate power pulses . Friend dispatched on one years ago and says the chains didnt last any time. Scottoiler might help, but not much as the real problem is not lubing the chain.

All the best

Keith
