Rolling Eyes

Which companies have you had your best quotes from? I've tried a few online and they seem to be ALL expensive!

I did have a car accident back in Jan '01 - my fault and lost 2 years NCB. I never claimed (even tho fully comp) and third party repairs were £3k (Friggin' Merc!).

3 points and £40 fine - SP50, 01/04/00 (first of April, urgh!)

Bike would be garaged.

23 years old - no bike NCB, first bike.

Was looking at the VFR400 or RVF400 with an estimated value of £3.5k and alarmed. Birmingham post code...

So far TPFT ranges from £650 to £1,500! Maybe it's me but I was hoping to get a better deal than that?

Hi

£650 is probably not too bad. Try Bennets in Coventry, as they came out with a fairly good quote for me (£275 on a 1200 Bandit, 33, full bike no claims).

As far as the insurance companies are concerned, on a bike you will have only just passed your test. They will treat you little differently to someone of 23 who had just passed their car test and wanting to insure your Calibra.

All the best

Keith

Thanks Keith. I'll log on to their website. Their actually one of our customers at work but I don't reckont hat will do me any favours Wink

It's kind of annoying at the fact that I'm questioned about my driving history and then my remaining 2 years NCB are not taken into consideration. (With the one self fault accident in 5 years).

Although saying that my first car was a crap 1.2L Nova merit many moons ago. Cost me all of £1,250 and TPFT cost £1k Shocked

Hi Dodds

SOmeone my better half works with passed her bike test and bought a 600 Monster as a first bike. Insurance was alot less than £300, but then she is double your age and then a bit.

Someone else I know has just passed there test about a week ago. Quotes for a ZZR600 have come out at £309 fully comp, again at about double your age and then a bit.

All the best

Keith

my insurance on a provisional licence for the NSR cost me a mere £105 from the AA, I was rather surprised that they beat all the specialist bike insurers, also as I am a member of the AA for the car, the bike is covered at no extra charge (and boy was I glad of that the first ride out on it when the front brake locked on and it got towed home)

The insurance for my zx6r is around £500 (£495 or somethin) TPFT... I'm 22 with 1NCB and full licence for under a year. There's a list of the insurance companies I phoned on my website.

That's teh only way to do it... it may be hassle but if you can have an extra £150 in your pocket for a day's work I'm not complaining :) .
I did actually phone a few more before I started writing them down... I was going to settle with the £684, then thought the £645 definatley wouldn't got beaten.
