here are some dublin insurance rates in ireland for you to mull over!!
18 yr old-aprilia rs50-4000comp-2900tpo
18 yr old-nsr125-7200comp-5600tpo
20 yr old-nsr125-5400comp-4400tpo
21 yr old(me)-rvf400-7500comp-5500tpo
24 yr old-rvf400-5600 comp-4000 tpo
these are all assuming provisional licence, take away roughly 400 per year no claims and 400 for a full licence
this makes 20 year old on nsr with full licence and 2 years no claims roughly 4000 for comprehensive
there is only one insurance company in ireland that will quote under 25's-hibernian, and if u claim in 1st or 2nd year they have informed me next year insurance near doubles!
joke

I suppose if you're willing to travel it wouldn't be a bad idea to get to the ferryport get a foot only passenger trip to ireland and then get to wherever the bike is, buy it, then ride it back to the ferry port and bring it back to mainland england. Only thing is you're buggered if they sell it before you get there or its a shit bike. Dunno about the legal shit regarding importing it though, but the bikes are normally a lot lot cheaper.

bikes re cheaper here becuase nobody can afford to insure the things before they are 25, so small bikes(400's 125's) are really cheap-rvf's go for 3500 euro 1994-thats about 2000 quid
big bikes are about the same i think coz they have a bigger market

Thats what I'll hopefully be doing this year sometime, nipping across to Ireland and riding back on a nice ZXR400 Mr. Green

Anyone got ideas on used prices over there?

zxr 400, emm, theres not a lot over here
but they go from people at the same price as rvf's etc
about 3500-4500 euro for a 94/95
dealers over here arent cheap however
average price for a 92 cbr250 in dealer here is about 5000 euro!! u can get a fireblade for that easy
