I went with my g/f a couple of years back, I was a bit shocked at the place, it really does need a face lift. There was a load of inner city scool kids there on a trip at the same time as us and they were the most obnoxious kids I've ever seen. There was a gang of about 10 of em throwing coins at the bears while the teacher just stood there looking bored.
Did you visit the cafe, We did. We had "surprise" sandwiches.
First were were surprised at how expensive they were, then we were further surprised as the fillings were not what the packaging said. Laughing

They actually now have funding to do some work to the zoo, but it is looking better than it has in the past. In this instance, I think we were the obnoxious kids annoying everyone Laughing

We waited until we got to a pub for food Very Happy

Did they let you feed the penguins there?? G/f is still not happy about paradise park not letting her feed em. She's got a bit of a thing for puffins as well now. Rolling Eyes

Although half of them were more interested in collecting twigs than being fed.

Very nice photographs, what camera were they taken on?

I went to Dudley Zoo with Alex as part of my jam packed birthday, in 2005 I think. I remember thinking the animals needed more room and the Zoo generally needed a face lift but I enjoyed it [despite the damp weather!] I found it amusing watching the Chimps picking their noses and steeling each others straw. Laughing Just like people...

Would love ther go there in nice weather like this and some other parks. Looks like a good day out. Thumbs Up

I used a Nikon D100 with a Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 lens.

The lens will be replaced shortly as I'm not really happy with it. In comparison to the Nikkor lenses I have the Sigma is a little soft, and definitely a little slow.

I have wondered at times about getting a Nikon, I've got a Canon 300D at the moment. Havent been into my photography too much for a while but Id like to get some more kit for it / better lenses for events when only an SLR will do. I heard Sigma were supposed to be a good lens, but have never used any. My 200mm lens is Tamron. Only other lens I have is a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM.

There was a bat cave, barred to the public. I guess the bats had keys.
