Looking into getting a gps for a planned trip through europe during easter. Has anybody bought on of these units, and if so how do you rate them?

Cheers Fellas, Got it, fitted it, used it today. General impresion is that its a quality bit of kit. Had to nake a suitable bracket for it.

Not sure if i like having it on the bike. and i think it needs tweaking a bit for road type preferance and so on. But i do like the fact that it logs your journey and you can get a detailed readout & maps on your pc when you get home.

Hey Modo, It was £495 beer tokens. bit pricey i know but hoping the extra mapping for europe will be worth it. Its a solid well built bit of kit. easy to use. im starting to really like the little Fekka.

Got it from sheffieldgps.com the page comes up as pentagon or something. found them through ebay but phoning direct gave me a better price.

If anyone has any good routes for france / spain / uk. GPX format or a website i could find loads on would be great. Thumbs Up

I thought they came with a RAM mount as standard, to clamp it onto the LH handlebar

They do come with 2 fitting options

first = 6mm bar threaded at both ends and bent "u shaped" to clamp round bars together with the ram Ball joint.

Second = secure the ram ball joint fitment to your brake/clutch lever. by removing the C-Brace on your lever mount.

I did not like either method so made a bracket to fit snug over my top yoke (sportsbike Gixxer) just a simple ally block slotted and 2 m6 threaded holes. (Im a machinist so was not a problem.)

could suply a dimensioned drawing.

Hey motoman, good question that is, garmin do not do their own. i tried a regular earpiece first and nearly ripped my ear off and squashed my head, ( but you have to try these things first dont ya). i ended up doing a search on ebay for a bluetooth headset and found the itech

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/iTech-Bluetooth-Media-Player-Headset-Ipod-Earphones_W0QQitemZ280093473413QQcategoryZ112529QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

its cheap and it works so im happy with it, maybee a bit too quiete,
