(warning this will be quite long and rambley)

Today i invested in a situp bench thing, i'd usually end up on the other side of the room somehow before Confused ..
Very pleased with it, the added advantage is being able to use weights a well, something like in below
https://www.muscleandstrength.com/exercises/dumbbell-flys.html
https://www.muscleandstrength.com/exercises/decline-dumbbell-bench-press.html
(i'd have got something more sophisticated but not got space for anything else)

So ive got some bits of some weights.. well the weights and no handles.. so i'm thinking of getting some new barbels, any reccomendations?

What i used to do was 30situps, 30 pushups, and another 20 situps and then an hour of leg stretching (used to do taekwondo) Did this 4days a week, also allot of kickbag work, the other days i'd be training anyways.. i'm fairly sure now i'd hospitalise myself

So i'm wondering how many reps should i be doing using what weights? tbh when i had a gym membership i'd just go untill it hurt, then go back when i'd recovered from walking in a chimpanzee sort of way after a few days (probably not the best way to go about things in retrospect)

+ anything else can be done on these benches? it lists situps, leg lifts and dorsal raises?

I'll get a gym membership again soon enough but money is better spent elsewhere at the moment so this will be better than doing nowt..

Personally I would only do stretchs for 10-15 minutes. Get a set of dumbells or just the bars if you have weights. You should be able to exercise most muscle groups, plenty of places on the web with dumbell exercises. £10 -£20 will get you a punch bag, 3ft - 6ft according to preference. A bag of sand from Wickes and a bag of sawdust it fill it and your away. As you probably know it makes a, good cardio, strength and stamina workout.

I tend to stick to 2 sets of 12-20 reps working different groups each day. First rep is at a weight that I know is below my limit, second set is a few kilos, 1-5, higher. If your mainly after strength then you need to choose a weight that you fail to lift before you reach the full number of reps.

I also do sit ups and press ups at the end in groups of twenty until I can't do any more.

I've been meaning to clear out the shed (bloody huge it is but fiull of tables/chairs e.t.c.) since the bike is where i used to have the kickbag!

The weights are i think just lumps of concrete in vynl stuff :/ i'll see if i can find anything i can make use of these otheruns with but otherwise seen some cast iron ones for not overly much, i'll be haveing a look arround the car boot though and see if theres anything there...

Found this which looks interesting Thumbs Up

looks ok, like I said theres loads out there, you just need to find something interesting.

Weights sound like the type argos etc sell. No problem with them about £15 for a 15kg set, but you might be able to get a used set pretty cheap, people are always getting rid of them. I also use a pull up bar, I'm not very good on it but it feels like its working.

Interesting reading, some stuff on there makes allot of sense from previous experience Laughing

I'll be keeping an eye out in the local rag and boot sales for some, allthough there not hugely expensive really..
