i seem to do this every so often, does this happen to most people or should i be concerned.

dont understand what you mean? A) are you personally trying to find neutral like you forget where it is sometimes?? B) you are finding neutral between 2nd and 3rd??

You are finding a false neutral, all bikes have them. You need to be more positive with your gearchanges also you may need to adjust your gear lever to make selection easier.

Have you had new boots recently?

boots . . .boots what are they Laughing


na i've always used the same boots, it usally when i am change the gears at speed that i find this "false" neutral.

as said above could be dodgey selector forks or you just not being positive enough. Wouldn't worry about it unless it starts getting worse.

if it happens a lot and isnt down to your technique it points to gearbox problems. My dad once had a vfr 750 that dropped out of 5th into a false neutral under heavy acceleration, not good.
