If its just the can thats loose you wont lose any power. The back pressure is determined by the stinger pipe. That is the narrowest part of the exhaust and is located just before the can.
You're best off getting it welded. Exhaust pastes will do as a temporary repair providing whatever your putting it onto is rigid. The paste dries very brittal and the slightest movement causes it to deteriorate.

Im not familiar with the Arrow pipe for the NSR. Im presuming the silencer is an integral part of the exhaust and cannot be unbolted. If im correct the following applys.
The exhaust is made from very thin steel so a little 80 amp mig welder will make a neat job of sealing it up.

I have used the exhuast pastes on mine, but it just gets blown out after a few runs. So i wouldnt waste money on that. For mine i need a proper wire mesh gasket, that fits between the two overlapping pipes, but i cant seem to get one??????. U might have better luck, but welding is very permanent, and should only be done as a last resort ( if welding it on, make sure the battery on the bike is totally disconected to avoid seeing ur wiring go up in smoke ).

Make sure u have a decent exhaust clamp ( stainless steel, no more than £5 ) and tighten it up as near to the end of the ajoining pipes as possible. Using some strips of old cole cans between the slip joint may help a little too, thats wot i did, and all is ok for now, but i want that mesh gasket really.

Ok, try that and see how u get on.
