Well I'm getting my CB500 in the very near future, first thing I want to do is replace the indicators, then think about putting hot grips on it. Where would I get replacement indys? I've been looking at busters accessories and everything there seems a bit expensive. Is there anything I should know in advance about fitting nicer looking ones?

For replacement and spare parts your looking in the right places really.

Busters, M&P, Hein Gerike etc.

There's always good old "Fleabay" too.

On a CB500, I wouldn't.....

But other than those mentioned, maybe Demon Tweaks, Fast Bike Bits, David Silvers, Wemoto....

On a CB500 you don't want hot grips. You want bar muffs for that courier look. Add surplus army boots and chain lube spattered wheel and away you go.

shush now be nice! It's my first proper bike purchase, and I'm planning to keep it for a while. I don't want fairings made out of milk cartons, though I'm vaguely considering making my own fender extender, as I gip at the thought of paying £50+ for a piece of plastic like that.

Funny that you mention that because everyone I know who has a GS500 had a F.E. on it when they bought it 2nd hand...

Theyre good bits of kit.

The pyramid plastics fender extender is £17.99 for a CB500.

Demon Tweeks catalog.

I paid about that for my (pyramid) Hornet one. Thumbs Up

Certainly a MUST buy item, dunno why bike makers don't fit the bloody things as standard. Brick Wall

Yes. The original Honda ones will do a better job than 100 quids worth of R+G crash bungs Smile
