That's about the shortest name I can find for them. As you can imagine, I'm not having a lot of luck with my web searches.

Basically, one or more of the leds or bulbs that backlight the clock dials on my hornet has died, and I need to get replacements, particularly since the speedo side is completely dark and I just know I'm going to get done for speeding without even realising it. Does anyone know what these are usually called, and what type and how many I need for a CB600F-2 Hornet 600 ('02)?

According to this fiche for an 04 CB600F the bulbs are #1 and #2:

1. Part No. 34908-MG9-951 - BULB (12V1.7W)
2. Part No. 34909-MCB-611 - BULB, WEDGE BASE (12V1.7W H.D)

N.B. Fiche from US site so maybe worth checking UK specs.

You would be better off geting LED's as you can choose the colour you want and they will not blow again. Wink

That's handy, thanks guys, now I quite fancy getting orange or red LEDs... what am I getting myself into! Is this the first step into the world of modding?

Well first things first. Got to remove the clock coverings to get at the innards. Now where's me hammer?!!

That's only for finesse work. I think my doc martens should work ok for a job such as this.

THat's very kind of you, djneu-trix, at the moment my bike is covered in a solid sheet of ice and snow, but hopefully at some point today or tomorrow I'll be able to get enough energy to go outside -- will definitely let you know what them wee ones look like. Cheers!

Hi

They are normally capless bulbs, and quite easy to get. If you have one floating around to match up with that is.

All the best

Keith

Thanks Keith

I must admit I had no idea what capless bulbs were, then like a good 21st century internet user I did a search, and found it simply refers to bulbs which have prongs rather than a cap (genius)! If that's the case I should imagine it should be really easy to change them.
