Hay all not posted in here for a while as the bikes been going well lately and been quite happy and had the balls to sort all the issues myself Razz ...

Anyways, just a quickie really ... Probably an easy answer but i just want to check.

at about 4:30 today came out of college to ride home with the damn snow storm having been going for 3 hours so the bike was somewhat submerged, well slightly white Razz ....

Went to start it:

1st Attempt = No go
2nd Attempt = No go
3rd Attempt = One of the biggest backfires i think i have ever heard!
4th attempt = Wahay ... She's going

DIES

5th attempt and high revving for a minute = Running good

Now could this backfire have caused any issues as on the ride home i would struggle past 9k revvs, just like it in the morning not being warm enough but it was doing this 20 mins into a ride through a huge snow storm ...

Could this just be the cold or could the backfire have dome damage? This is the first backfire I've had of it during daily use too. Also, this isn't the coldest I've been on it ...

Any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Luke.

Just in case you've forgotten, it's a water cooled 2-stroke 125. Aprillia pegaso 125.

Chances are it's just petrol vapour that's condensed on the inside of the exhaust and engine being ignited by the spark plug. I wouldn't worry about it. It happens in the cold.

Although I do have to question your sanity about riding a scooter in a snowstorm.

It's no scooter, lol ... and im quite proud of that fact Razz Never liked to scooters, lol ...

It's this:

So does have an advantage for snowy/off-road use ...

It was kinda fun, kinda scary and kinda borin all at the same time and damn annoying too as the snow builds up on the visor in seconds so you cant see Razz, then i got pelted with snowballs on the way out of college ... Ouch and before, one went inside my helmet and the inside of the visor was clogged up too, lol ...

Oh well ... it's all fun Razz

Hi

If really cold then you are likely to get some issues. Backfires were likely just petrol dumped in the exhaust from your first attempts to start it.

All the best

Keith
