Have a problem with a gilera dna 50 engine that keeps revving its self up the last time i tried it it kept revving up to 9000 and more. i have now tried it in 2 bikes and it does the same, on the second bike i tried i used only the engine and kept the carb and other bits as i know it runs ok and it did the same kept revving up on its own. i have spilt the crank and the only thing that might be wrong is the water pump seems a bit stiff but surely this wouldn't cause it to rev its self up. the only way to stop it revving up is to turn the key off.

Have you done anything to the carb on the bike?

Sounds like you may have an air leak.

Could be something to do with the air/fuel mixture.

I dont think so as the second time i put every thing on the engine from the bike that i knew was good and it still did it, put the other engine back in and it ran fine.
