Cltuch basket removal

I want to remove the clutch basket from a Thnudercat engine. How hard is it going to be and can I do it without the aid of special tools??

Once you've removed the plates you will need a tool to stop the centre hub spinning. You can either buy a special tool or make your own by riveting a friction plate and a plain plate together. Check this out;

I've managed to remove the basket on my bike fine several times without any special tool, I just used the rear brake to stop it spinning. You could probably improvise with a combination of screwdrivers and vices etc anyway.

Don't try and use the fingers of the basket and screw drivers to block the hub. It snaps the fingers off....
