Yeah Confused

Years ago I was riding a bike back to my home after having just bought it, and a taxi pulled out on me (his fault entirely) ... and I dumped the bike on the road in front of a plod.

I had NO previous form AT ALL.

Taught me a VERY important lesson about having insurance.

Everyone said "Ooh, its a first offence, you've got no points and an immaculate licence ... he'll prolly just fine you and give you some hefty points."

Nope: First timer or not: three months ban.

Evil or Very Mad Prolly the beak didn't get his usual morning blowjob with his cup of tea from his secretary. Just my luck.

Yeah Steve, i had my licence revoked in November last year.

I had three points on my licence already and was in the 6 point probabtion bollox. Sad thing was, they were due to come off in December Rolling Eyes

Got it back in the new year, i think end of Feb maybe later.
Around £450 worse off and very pissed off.

I got to work either by bus or the hot lady who lives by me, it's cost me a lot of money, and i haven't learnt a thing. Razz Thumbs Up

15 months and a £655 fine for drink driving ten years ago.

Soon learnt the lesson, vehicles and kids should be left at home and not taken to the pub Wink

Cheers,

Byrnie.

In the process, being charged with dangerous driving and aiding abetting someone to ride on a motorcycle without protective headgear. Got court on wednesday, although i'm not going, pleading not guilty,,blah blah. (long story, will post a big thread in a few months when it's sorted)

Also on a seperate offence, i'm being charged with failure to stop after a road traffic accident, still waiting for that summons to appear though.

No doubt my licence will be gone soon. Crying or Very sad

Way back in 2001odd
6 Points for now insurance on my ZXR400
8 Points for due care and attention (a wheelie at boxhill on my storm about a month after I got it)
All points deducted put a TT99 (totting up) on my licence and 6 month statutory ban, with test retake after.

Then stupidly got caught on the 125 hackmobile after a few drinks coming back on a snowy Feburary night from my mates house round the corner at 3am. Not good. It was going so well until he sat me in the car (it was about -2c outside) to do some licence checks... confined spaces and stinky breath don't mix. Soon it was "well sonny we can smell alcohol on your breath we're gonna have to breathalise you"

Doh.

I almost got banned, I got caught for no insuranse, which was not intirley my fault as my dad didn't tell me my insurance wasn't on. so my ped got impounded and I didn't have the money to get it out so I had to flog it...lol!

Now I have 6 points on my licence, riding sensibly just no insurance!

Nah, don't have to pay for renewing short licenses, just have to fill in the DVLA forms, see their doc's and hope they don't decide that anything's changed.

Why did docs decide you where unsafe? ^^^

I'm waiting for a court summons which will undoubtedly lead to bannage! 6 point limit is ridiculous, I had 3 for No L plates and will certainly get at least another 3 when I go to court. Time to get a job that involves driving I think Laughing

I was referring to the fact that if you have a job that involves driving i.e livelyhood at stake then the courts usually go easier on you. dig?

And I think babyam was referring to the point that if you'd had L plates and not ridden like an idiot you wouldn't have had the (possible) 6 points in the first place... Wink Laughing

Not allways mate, i was very lucky to keep my licence and they didnt give a shit that if i lost my licence, chances are i'd loose my job and my house. Apparently, its irrelevent and if you rely on your licence why do something to risk loosing it?

Just got my licence back clean! (Had 3 points £40 for entering the hatched white lines)

So Im clean for the moment (Until the summer and R1 happen Twisted Evil )

Also! When I got my 1st 125 I never had L plates on it and never bothered!

I was never stopped when I had no L-plates. However with L-plates I found myself stopped ofter for checks etc.

Hhaaha....

May 04
6 points for 98 in a 60 zone.

July 04
5 points for 54 in an unmarked, unsigned, no lamp post, rural apparent 30 zone. Twisted Evil

July 05
Landed a 6 week SPD (Short period Disqualification) for 94 in a 60 plus a 10 mile chase - thank fully they didnt push for a failure to stop. See here and here. Crying or Very sad

Served that out no worries.

Then got another bike..

December 05
In court, adjourned to reappear in court 10th Jan.

Jan 06.
In court.. banned 3 years.

Not saying what for. Its not big, its not clever and I was fucking lucky not to get banged up for it. Lets just say i wont be getting back on a bike for some time to come - even AFTER i've got my license back.

You have to prove that to lose your licence would cause exceptional hardship. By this, it must not only cause yourself great inconvenience and financial difficulty, but should cause the same to other people, such as your employees if you own a business. There's a guy in london with well over 30 points on his licence...

Even then its not guarenteed to work.

I would have lost my job if it werent for the company being so supportive of me.

But it only caused you hardship, not anybody else. If it causes anybody else hardhsip, then you have a case. If not, then it's seen as your own fault, hence:
