Hi guys (and gals).
Just wondering how many miles it takes to bed the new engine in. I've heard it should be no more than 5000revs for the first 500 miles then increase it buy 1000revs for each subsequent 100 miles thereafter.
Is this right? Also, if thats the case, how does one go about changing from 1st to 2nd to 3rd etc? 1st gear is always a redline gear as it goes so quickly

Cheers in advance. Very Happy

Those are the Honda guidelines, but some "experts" say that it does more damage than good...as for the redlining, just take it easy!...try to change into 2nd as soon as you're actually on the move...(did you use to ride a scoot by any chance?)

or if first gear is really that short, try chugging away in 2nd.
i had to bed in my 50cc for 500 miles at 4500 revs.
26miles an hour, it was a crap summer, then i sold the bike 4 months later to a guy who was gonna rebore it and put in a 70cc kit.
what a waste...
