I got a foam ram air filter for my bike but its too damn loud. ( i must be getting too old)

call me stupid but what does the air filter do that a standard air filter doesunt does it make more noise and r they easy to fit and do they increase the bhp?

It definately makes it louder, it was easy to fit, as for the BHp im not sure, my bikes not very powerful to start with.

You need to alter the mixture as well, i just done it on the pilot screw, i think to do it proper you need a new jet and needle.

Wow what an item. A new air filter which:-

a) costs more money
b) probably adds as much more power as a hairdryer (double power for all you moped owners Wink )
c) needs rejetting and
d) is a cop magnet

ello peeps its my first post on here:)
i have a honda express,yes i know dont laugh ,i have fitted a K&N to it and it sounds mint.also it does increase the power of your bike ,not by much but mine now does 37mph as where before it only did 29mph.hold it at half throttle and it sounds like a hairdryer just like any other moped but open it full throttle and it sounds mint:)
since october i have done nearly 4000 miles on b reg express.it had 14027 on the clock when i took it for its m.o.t it now has 17950 on it and it hasnt broken down once:)
im gettin an ns125f off a m8 of mine in september and was wonderin what would b the best exhaust for one.
