rear brake binding

Well past few days I was wondering why grannies were overtaking me in their nissan micras haha ,

rear brake is seriously sticky, put it on it doesn't come off ,

and in the mornings it can lock on solid ,

So its a remove caliper ,
remove pads and scrub up the pads and

clean up the caliper, (hopefully no disassembly) , and maybe stick some new pads in , they have a years wear on them anyway and are close to the limit

am I missing anything?

Are you sure it is not the peddle sticking down.Just checking as people
have came to me with new pads ready for the caliper to be taken off and
it turned out to be the peddle.

Well the foot peddle its very difficult to push down with me foot ,

and also it does not return to its normal position only a tiny bit from full pressing down,

ie I have to stick me foot under it and lift it up like it was the gear lever changing up , but pulling it up doesn't release the brake fully , as this morning reversing out , the brake was seriously binded and I was pulling against it.

In that case it's just your pedal sticking. Spray loads of wd40 on to it and work it up and down till it starts moving nice and freely. If releasing the lever doesn't free the wheel, then it's possible either both your lever and your calliper-piston have siezed at the same time, or maybe your master-cylinder-piston is siezed.

Try freeing up your lever first.
