We have been arguing about this at work so I thought I would throw it open to the web.

Define a top ten list of hairdressers cars that no self respecting man should be seen dead in:

Here is my 1st attempt:

1) new beetle
2) Mazda MX5
3) Suzuki Vitara
4) Peugeot 205CC
5) Audi TT
6) BMW Z3
7) BMW Z4
8) BMW X3
9) new mini
10) Honda S2000

Some say I have too many BMW's where as I think I have too few!

the MX5 and the s2000 are proper sporty cars, that handle really well..

I'd not agree they are hairdresser cars

That's a pretty accurate top ten I'd say.

Although I'd have to disagree with the Audi TT at #5, although it has 'become a cliche' as mentioned on Top Gear it is still an iconic car and deserves a bit more respect.

The Honda S2000 isn't THAT girly, but I could live with it being at number 10.

So, I'd just swop the TT with the 'Ford Streetka'.

Interestingly I did a quick search on Google and Diamond insurance have the Streetka logged as the most driven by hairdressers, and they would have the data to prove it!

Forgot about the street car, sorry Ka

Interesting what you say about the TT, someone at work just bought one and lots of blokes have been taking the p*ss saying he has bought a hairdressers car, thats how all this started. So whether you like it or not it's perceived as one !

I'll swap the S2000 for the street Ka (in my list of cars no man would be seen dead in...although personally I would own either)

What!? Shocked

You'd swap a car that handles, is pretty quick and looks pretty sporty for an ugly, common out and out girls'/17-19 year old spotty lad-mobile?

Bonkers!

I was just so shocked by the statement in isolation I was completely unable to refer to it in context...

Phew, I can breath again. You have regained my respect Wink

Here's an 'old skool' hairdressers' car

Wait! I was cruelly quoted out of context!! I would replace the S2000 in the list of hairdressers cars with a streetka. I wouldn't be seen dead in one.

I'm a fan of the S2000.

I was actually looking at one of those last weekend, a black one with a red leather interior, and I quite liked it! Embarassed

Not common yet cos they only went on sale here last year sometime I think, but I suspect you'll see more and more of them as summer approaches........

Oh dear. I think maybe I have a secret inner hairdresser in the way some women have an inner blonde? Sad

I'd say the Suzuki Cappuccino, but any man who dares to drive a car that small clearly isn't trying to compensate for anything.

Unlike the BMW Zeds with their 'look how long my bonnet is' front ends.

The rules go out the window entirely for us, women are allowed to drive girly cars without a second thought.

Though anyone seen in a pink micra needs stabbing - it's an offence to my sense of taste.

Two things:

Glad to see the MR2 isn't on there... the MK3 is quite girly. Bloke on a programme I was watching the other day who owned a Ferrari 355 replica made out of an MR2 described the MK2 MR2 as hairdressery.

I thought to myself: You've got blonde highlights, wearing a tight vest and drive a replica ferrari. You tosser.

Secondly, my dad was a hairdresser for 40 years and he drives a Renault Laguna Sports Tourer. Does that make it a hairdressers car? Smile
