god damn it.

i went for a nice night ride last nite. got back, washed off the road salt as usual, put the bike under the shelter and covered it over n went to bed.

woke up, saw a dry road and went out to start her up, statrter motor is firing, but the engine wont ignite.

I have removed and cleaned up the spark plugs, which are sparking, checked the charge of the battery according to the manual.....still nothing.

any ideas?

What about the fuel? All you need to get an engine firing is air/fuel and a spark in the right quantities. If you have a healthy spark then make sure the fuel is being delivered from the carb.

Does the bike splutter or backfire?

splutters when cold, never backfired yet, the revs seem to drop every now and again when cold, but after about 5 mins of warming everything is fine.

I've done 300 miles in the past week with no problems, just this morning

Must be fuel related. Try starting it on all fuel settings and check the there is enough fuel in the bike.

If it still doesnt start then Im guessing you're carbs might need a clean-up.

Is your bike the religious-type. It might have done it deliberately because it's a Sunday Smile
