Stubbied Exhaust :D mega happy

well after blowing my exhaust apart i decoded to buy a cheap exhaust off ebay just to tide me over, exhaust arrived yesterday, fitted it and wasn't that impressed. noise level was just below my Fuel can.

sooooooo decided on Stubbying the fuel can.

started by removing the carbon sleeve from the exhaust and using a new 2 quid saw from B and Q I cut the edge that had sheared from the rivets, not sure how much i removed, prob about 3 inch's, it cut surprisingly easy

I then took it to my cousin and he helped me remove the metal bracket, the original rivets and then cut the Baffle tube to the correct length.

the results............. fucking mega happy, sound is sooooo much better and it feels as if the power has shifted a bit more low down.

not bad for a can i was going to give it away for free

I don;t have a sound clip yet but i do have one of the bike with no exhaust on completely

I bought a stubby exhaust from A16 last week and by christ it's loud! It's 251mm in length total.

Needs a bit of a bodge with the link pipe but I'll have to do that another time.

You could of at least cleaned your exhuast.

cheeky sod, on the last pic where it'd fitted i have cleaned it..... I just didnt bother cleaning the rest of the bike


I was after a 20cm Viper Stubby for mine, but after ringing them they wouldnt sell me one as apparently they pop/bang/flame too much when fitted to the srads.

Maybe, haven't cleaned a Suzuki for a while. I have got quite a batch of paraffin left over....could work wonders.

Water marks are usually a witch to clean, if push comes to shove (and they're far away from the seals), I might be inclined to use a very light work of polish. Not something I find needs doing too often though, the bike having never been exposed to H20 now I've got it to a reasonable state. For stains, depending on the area, I'd usually do a rub down and respray if it doesn't come off with cleaning products.

I use paraffin mostly for degreasing, or cleaning off built up road grime.
