Clipon was nearly a clip-off!

Allow me to regale you with a tale of my incompetence...

I've been meaning to clean my bike for ... oohhh about 3 months now. What with going off to the states and generally being busy I haven't got round to it.

Cleaning it is when I do all those little jobs and check it all over.

Riding home last night the steering started to feel really weird. Normally I'd ignore it, struggle home and sort it out 'later' but this was so weird I stopped in a garage to have a look.

Eeek! Right clipon was wiggling around about an inch


2 lessons learned

1) Don't keep putting off basic maintenance
2) STOP as soon as bike feels weird

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Coming onto the hanger straight at Silverstone one time, where you've got to counter steer pretty hard, I found my right hand hit the tank pretty much, with out the steering moving!
So had to ride the rest of the lap just using the left bar for steering.
