Ive had a search through the archives, but cant find too much info ,apart from Ste's bad experience, but what are peoples opinions of Infinity Motorcycles?

I'm looking at applying for a sales position there (on clothing & accessories) and I would like to know if anyone has had any experience of working for or dealing with Infinity from any view other than as a customer.

If i work for a chain such as this am i going to be named the enemy?

Its the Clapham store that I'm looking at.

Cheers

Kaben Thumbs Up

I use the store in York when I can. Seems to have the usual mix of sales staff. i.e. those that are helpful but know nothing, those that do know stuff and are helpful and those that think they're doing you a favour by letting you in the shop Rolling Eyes

Overall it's not bad. Obviously can't comment on the staff terms and conditions or what the work's actually like. I think York still sell bikes and do some servicing work so perhaps more variety of staff than found in just a bike clothing/accessory store.

Only dealt with the Clapham branch as a customer - seem nice guys in there. Any discounts if you get the job? Wink

Mate used to work in the Purley branch (M'City) in sales, he was their best salesman by far (going by the charts they display).

When he wanted a day off he was told no (for some reason or another) and they perferred him to quit than give him the day off (which he did). Their loss really cos he was making them loads of money. Rolling Eyes

But I guess every store is managed different.....

I agree with map Thumbs Up

i use the York store often and from a customers point of view the staff seem relaxed and the atmosphere seems ok too... the people i have spoken to there all seem helpful

when i had the whole saga with Aprilia they were really helpful and did what they could to hurry things along.

on the whole it would apear to be a nice place to work Thumbs Up

Good, i was hoping for positives here. Store seems pretty ace (does both the clothing and bikes/ maintenance.

Would be good as it combines sales skills i have from my previous job with something I'm actually interested in.

Will let you know how it goes.

I too use the York store fairly often, got my first lid there too.

One bloke always remembers me, and is friendly & helpful.

On the other hand, I've had a dozy schoolboy type sell me blatently the wrong part.

Don't know how it compares to the Suvvern branches.

my mate used to work in the Farnborough store most people their are very helpful, but he quit after they would not give him the day off. And i delt with one of the younger sales gyes in the bike section and he treated me like a nob, so i did not by a gsxr from them. The worst experiance i eva had was in Woking Yamaha i was thinking of trading in my GSXR for a new R6 and the head sales gye took a look at my bike and asked if it was a K3 or K4!!!!!!!!

I went to the Clapham store for a test ride last june - what a buch of cowboys!

They "forgot" i was coming

I overheard them talking about me behind my back

Two of them giggled when I told them that Gus Scott (who signed my leathers) was dead (RIP)

The bike i test road (zx7r) was horrid, the brakes were dangerously ineffecticve and the fuelling from the full race exhaust system was terrible - massive flat spot at 8000rpm.

When i told the sales guy - he couldn't care less.

I walked away.

Really dodgey place, I wont be going back there!

I used to do the exact job your goin for mate.
It were alrite, but as james said, they wouldnt give me a friday off to go to a festival, so I called it a day and stormed out after doing a nice big burnout right by the front door. Co-incedently it was the day charlie boring (the other matey from the long way round) was visiting the shop for signings and all that jazz. The one guy I got on really well with was Terry, lovely geezer, I think hes the manager at cllapham now...
I could be mistaken but he works at one of the london stores.
Pays good if you can sell well but I didnt really like working under comission.
If you want to know more just pm me or something mate, hope it's helped.
Take it easy.
Cliff. Thumbs Up

Bought an '06 FZ1 from Fanbourgh branch. The sales man had a bit of a filthy mouth on him, never hurd anyone swear so much while talking to a customer. Did me an ok deal though.

The servicing at that place is appaling, I only took it there because I got the first service free. Oil all down the side of the bike and loads of chain loob on the bike...... just none on the chain Rolling Eyes.

Never had a problem with the store at Hanger Lane, but then they only do cloths and bits and peices. Nice friendly people though.

from a customer perspective... the setup and the guys at the holburn branch have been top-notch for me.

I wonder if its a case of... get a good store manager or regional manager and its ok.

If you get one where a <censored> is running the show... then you're in trouble.

Good luck!

I know some of the guys and gals at the Great Portland Street Store... Very friendly and helpful bunch. will often exchange things no questions asked, or when for instance one of the bolts on my race boots came out after hard wear and tear for 6 months ish they replaced it for free...

The staff at hangar lane also seem nice... but i dont know them..

Looks like a gravy train job IMO, go for it.

Only ever dealt with the Clapham store, and the guys there seem friendly enough.

However I ordered some bits for my TZR and despite telling them to their faces it was a 4DL they got the bits for the standard model. However everyone can make a mistake. They ordered the new parts and phoned me when they came in.

The only thing that slightly narked me was they wouldn't even give me an estimate for a rebuild. 'Dunno, depends what's wrong with it', they said. So I asked, 'Ok, forget checking things, how much to replace the rings, gearbox drive seals and reed valve?'. 'Dunno, it depends'.

meh. I wish they had a more standardised pricing system rather than a basic labour charge. I know exactly how long it takes to drop a 125's engine, take the top off and split the gearbox. Suffice to say, I won't be going there for the rebuild.

Me too (bought a new bike from them). Bought mine from Boris, who's very sarcastic but seems like a nice bloke even when I'm not buying (when I've been there a few times since).

The nearest infinity i go to is Fanborough, nice enough, helpful guys, i always take my tyres down there as they are always the cheapest, give free fitting and do it while i wait usually so Thumbs Up from me.

Yea i avoid Woking Yamaha as well, find them a bunch of w**kers to be honest.

Although one time i went in there in desperate need of some rear brake pads, normally i had to order them in from Italy, but they ordered the exact ones in error for another customer. So their uselessness actually did me a favour and kept me on the road Very Happy
