Hi all, from australia, new to the site, blah blah.

I have recently fitted a new yoshi pipe to my R6. After I run the bike, thin white smoke starts to slowly come from the pipe. The smoke smells quite different to exhaust, and seems to steadily come out for atleast 5 mins. Does this have something to do with the new baffle material? Also, I recently fitted a new oil pump cover, and without thinkin it over twice, filled the bike up with oil pretty much straight away. I later realised that i may have contamintated the oil with gasket sealant, so i flushed it out and gave it new oil. Maybe this has something to do with it?

I'm pretty sure that oil has white / grey fumes when hot and is the most likely cause I would imagine.

I had a Yoshi on the ZXR and it sounded very deep and very strong. Good choice, but not when starting the bike up in the morning when the neighbours have their windows open Neutral

the exhaust isnt smokey at all when the bike is on, so im sure there is no oil getting into the fuel mix. It smells nothing like either, plus the bike only has 2400kms on the odo. Im Quire sure it has something to do with the new can. Also, i should clarify, the smoke is coming from the inside of the can, not the manifold/pipe.

It could be just bedding in a little and may well stop over time

Its definitley got nothing to do with the engine bedding in if thats what you mean. Has any body encountered the same thing after installing a new silencer?

I meant the brand new exhaust pipe, like when a new one is fitted to a car it always smells a little bit from new and sounds more tinny until you get a little build up inside it.The smoke could be the insides being heated up and getting 'bedded in'

thats what i thought it may have been.. I know that silencers use different sorts of baffle material, some being a fabric type, which i suspect this may be because of the odd smell. Thanks for the advice.
