Its only wednesday and I've been commuting into the city centre each day and yet each day
in and out I've had many more than usual close shaves,

I've been doing mind numbing work so I'm tired so I ride slower than normal and when tired
can't really hammer it in filtering, but it seems to me at least the roads are much more dangerous
than just last week.

Memorable ones were:

Monday

While I'm going down bolton road , a sky blue saxo in a rush with a fat ugly blonde in it swerves in
and out nearly wiping me out in the process, as I'm sat in the outside lane not bothering to filter
since the filtering patch kills tyres due to lots of road crap.

I'm at a set of lights with me foot down and hear a howl of brakes and this focus nearly rear ends me
he waves sorry , I ride on,

Bit farther on ,Near Mc'ds and Mancs HG , the braking incident happens again with some daft sod
in a crap rover of some sort.

Farther down near the Boddies old brewery is a bus lane , which ends just before , a Polish plate
BMW cuts in infront of me weaves round me and goes back into the outside lane,

Newton Street two for one, I'm in a queue of traffic , at great ancotes , about to turn into Newton Street
I hear a long blast of a Horn , a car is in my blind spot and was > < from my leg , git in the black car
was honking me as if it was MY fault. BMW woman behind honked I ignored it and travelled 15 metres forward
where it happens again but with a Chavvy Black Nova

Tuesday was a few people pulling out without looking , swerving in lanes , nothing seriously life threatening
other than over taking cars coming towards me that occupy the entire lane leaving me with nowhere to go
which happens more and more

Wednesday

The usual braking for no reason , and pulling out the serious events:

A twat let his dog + child attached to it run out in the road , on a 40mph bit of road I very nearly locked
up the front maybe I did and pulled a major stoppie , the man came over and started giving me abuse , I stopped
and started to give him my fucks and shits , through all the fucks and shits, he seemed to say it was all
MY FAULT, bastard , maybe I should have cut his kid in half AND Sued him for damage to my bike,
CCTV would have exhorated my ass too, I'm glad I overhauled my brakes Saturday, else I'd not have stopped
in time.

This shit sky blue rover , the ones with a massive non square number plate , near Standlane , there is
this hashed bit which is easy to over take on then it opens into a 4 lane streach, hes bimbling at 20mph
I start to over take , he pulls out to the right , I pull out some more , he pulls out some more , until I am in
the gutter of the kerb opposite, and another car is coming towards us, he shoots in I cut in and filter away ,

Near Crystal Palace in Prestwich there were these cars that were 2/3 into my lane coming the opposite
direction, with the road completely clear on his side , utterly shit lane discipline and fog lights on.

I'm just venting here, but anybody noticed the same? that the roads are getting so much more aggressive?.

Must be linked to Blair introducing road tolls , I'm pretty annoyed with that , but I road mediate ie I only
think about riding when riding, and nothing else.

Any thoughts? my commutes usually have a close call every few days or so , but this is really taking
the piss.

Just a bad spot and me being unlucky or a real tension growing on the roads?

If i was you i would start driving a tank...... Twisted Evil

Yep, i have started to notice that as it gets lighter many drivers standards seem to fall, maybe because in the dark they double check or our lights stand out that much more. But the pulling into your space does seem to happen a lot more in daylight or dusk.

A lot of drivers seem to dislike bikes filtering, ie by sitting right up to white lines or even in some cases well over them.... as they feel you are holding them up ??? Never figured that one out, as you are long gone and out of their way.
If i'm filtering and they block me in such a way i just ensure that my light hits their mirrors for a good long period..... Even if it means sitting behind them a bit longer than necessary

Iitchy, you should realise by now living in Manchester.

Its a city full of violent Moronic fucktards, especially the trip from Bury- Manchester.

Thankfully i dont have to go any further than the lights where you go straight on to Broughton, Right to Kersal/Forrest Bank and left to Middleton Very Happy

I regularly commute on the A55 acros North Wales and it seems like everyone is trying to kill me. Tailgating, cutting me up, trying to race me. And I think my speedometer is screwed as well, even when I'm doing 80+mph, I get overtaken by loads of bikes. Smile
