Honda rc60

As a few people will have noticed Mcn magazine has gotten very taken with the idea of honda building a spiritual replacement for the rc30-45. Anyone who has seen the mockups will shudder with annoyance as the only thing they seem to share with said bikes is the v4 engine.
Granted a 1000cc v4 honda is one of my dreams but does anyone else think it should be much closer to the orginals rather then following the latest trends.
Ducati have finaly realised that their bikes must also have soul and character (hence the single sided swingarm on 1098)
What design cues should honda bring back?
Single sided swingarm is a must but shotgun exhausts perhaps?

I would say the RC bikes were relatively 'conservatively' designed.
The emphasis, I thought, was more on performance than styling - as it was with the r7 etc.

The new RC, even if it is actually true, shouldn't be too similar to the previous 30 and 45. They belong in their time, the new RC should bring things up to date.

I wouldn't be interested in a bike that lookssimilar to a CBR1000RR, although one with a V configuration engine does appeal. Single siders have had their day, although I still adore the look of them. Ducati's 1098 just seemed to have followed the 999's styling critisms, instead of really packing a stylistic punch like they did with the orignal 916.

One particular element that made the original stand out was that it didn't really look like anything else in the rest of the Honda range and also far greater than the sum of its parts.

I can't see Honda pulling that off today, considering how good the range of 1000cc motorcycles are, unless they really push the boat out and incorporate some real MotoGP wizardry.
