I thought I was capable of dealing with any American-style waffle, but I have to admit that this one has caught me off-guard! While it may seem harmless, behind the silly name is a roomful of senior officers who should have been concentrating on something that the public actually gave a toss about - like bringing down crime!

That one-sentence letter sums up so much about what is wrong with our society!

With regards to bringing down crime, the legal system has to change in order to support the officers.

Totally agree.

It's about time that officers were made officers again, and not the paper-pushing shadow of authority figures that they used to be.

Also with the fact that, for example, they catch thiefs and then pretty much have to release them, as thats what the law dictates. What really annoyed me was the farmer shooting the persistant burglers and then in turn was jailed.

Yep, you did Razz

So, instead of jumping on your view of the Tony Martin case (what can I say - it's a bugbear of mine) I shall simply say that the original letter posted by Mister James is indeed scary. I'm actually more offended by the new name than any of the old ones and, as was pointed out, by the fact that people sat down and wasted time and resources on this.
