Don't waste you time, carole nash will not cover anyone in ireland on a bike unless you're at least 22-23 with at least 1 years no claims and preferably a higher cc bike.
Quite strange that its that expensive in Tipp, but then, i'm nearly 23 with a no claims bonus and living in the country (around 1100 euro or thereabouts i was quoted).
Your best bet is just to sell it, downgrade to something like an ns1 until you clock up some no claims years and get older.

HI i know how you feel I am 18 and it will cost me 4500 euro to renew my Nsr third party,and the bike is impossible to sell what a wind up.

only my brother is shagging some bird from westmeath, i wouldnt have got insured ever on my rs125
its gonna be about ywice as much too with a years no cliams as i paid last year
so its gettib biinned, im gettin an rs250 and carole nash better insure me on that

God be praised! it will end. I hear that the government have taken pity on us irish bikers and are going to cut insurance costs. But by how much is the question. well after all it looks like i'll be able to afford those new jocks! Smile

a mate of mine got quoted 5k on his nsr with 3 years no claims in dublin
its total shit
for me the group10 or 12 bike i get next will cost me 2500-3500(1 year no claims-westmeath)
if i hadnt a country address i would be on a scooter now prolly! or an rs50 :(
