Well, as some of you may know im starting to get together the stuff to do up my bike when i get back at easter.
New braided brake lines, scottoiler, pads etc.

Anyway i also wanted some good tyres, but on the cheap.

This beauty came up (bare in mind mines a 96) on fleabay

Admittedly it went abit higher then i wanted, but dad picked them up earlier (was just up the road) and they are apparently pristine in all ways. Tyres are BT020's which are meant to be bloody good as well, admittedly not a honed track tyre but meh, and it meant i had some spares.

But guess which twonk only checked the microfiches for the rear wheel (which ARE identical) Crying or Very sad But who wants to play spot the difference with the fronts...

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/balls.gif

This as you can imagine isnt the utter end of the world (altho it would have been less agro to just chuck them over) as i still have the back wheel as a spare for swapping (for rolling burnout practice Very Happy... and if i get a puncture).

But a couple of questions;

A: How can i remove the tyre from the front without damaging the tyre or the wheel?

B: because the discs are mounted out further but flat do you think they'll probably still work if needs be (ie worth keeping as a spare) or will the wheel foul the caliper?

C: anyone know what to roughly expect for just the front wheel private sale? Checked on ebay and its ranging from a fiver to fifty to one hundred... :S
So realistically if i flog it what can i expect.

Also, good deal?
I was in full on smug mode til i spotted the wheels were different Sad

Right, take the front wheel to a tyre place, get them to swap the tyres.

If the disk is in a different place it's not worth the agro, if the disk itself is in good condition it's worth a fair bit. So flog that seperate from the wheel maybe. No reserve 99p put your balls on the line.

Rear wheel, obviously just swap if the disk and cush drive etc is in good nick.

Cush drive is missing ONE rubber thing apparently Rolling Eyes

i guess they'll be on ebay at some point or other, but i dont have a spare sprocket anyway so no great loss.

And yeh i suppose wheel and discs together is worth a fair bit for racing spares. I got emailed by some guy about wheels and discs... might see what he'll give me for just the front.

But yeh i guessed a tyre place could swap them both, but im imagining theyd prefer the replacement hoop off wheel.

Oh well, we'll see closer to the time.
