Anyone been to this ?

Is it worth a long trip up north ?

I'd quite like to look around Chester anyway.

a) Yes

b) Not in my opinion but you might enjoy it. It's lots of old bikes being ridden (fairly slowly cos no room to get out of 2nd gear) round a very short circuit in a supermarket car park.

c) it's not in Chester, or even very near it.

Couldnt have put it better,i have been 2 years on the trot, its ok if your local as its a free event and does attract huge crowds (parking problems if you dont get there early) so its up to you

i'll be going for the first time this year (hopefully)

The racing is quite comical, as scooters will often embarass BSB bikes. IIRC, Ollie Bridewell (on his Vivaldi R1 race bike) was utterly thrashed by a tuned italjet dragstar 125! Laughing

The main reason i'll be going is just to look at some nice bikes, and try and grab bargains from the trade stalls Very Happy

I've been to the Thundersprint twice as it's only about an hours ride away.

I don't think it would be worth a long trip North unless you're really interested in vintage bikes. There are quite a lot of these older bikes which compete.

It's worth it if you're reasonably close as it's free.
