What was the shop price of your bike? How much do you pay a month and how long have you/will you be paying?

Best of buying one right out, or get a 2nd hand one as you will be left paying if anything was to happen. If i was going to be paying finance i'd get a 1000 so i wouldn't get bored anytime soon.

I bought brand new on 0%. Total including a few extra bits was about £4500. Paid 2K straight off, currently paying about 60 quid or thereabouts a month for 4 years. It will be down to a couple of K soon and I will probably pay it off in a couple of months time. I used the 0% as a bit of a stop gap as I didnt have the cash lying around.

I once got a loan to pay off some debts and get a new car. For that Im still paying 220 quid a month and the cars long gone. Big loans for things you get bored of easy aint a good idea to me anymore.

I think 4K will be the most I will spend on a bike again, with or without the 0%!

Hi
Unless its 0% intrest your better off getting a loan, as it can be a right hassel to sell the bike if you are still paying finance on it.

SV was £2,195. I paid £600 up ront and the rest on finance for 2 years.

Only £65 a month, but money I'd rather have in my pocket. Annoying this is the bike woll be worthless when I come to sell it as I'm racking up the miles. Don't even have a clue how much I still owe!

But it can be difficult to get loans. Finance is a peice of p1ss to get.

But you have to be pretty sure you're going to keep the bike for 3 years (or whatever the amount of time you have chosen is).

Is that on a new bike? Old bikes can cost so much money that sometimes you're better off buying new. New bikes rock. Although I haven't had one for a while.

was an oldish bike, figured why end up paying 8K which i can't afford when i can pay back 3-4 which i can afford over time. plus i loved the particular year of bike i got my mitts on

however, A&L were very aggressive in their pitch and rate. My fault for being so blind but its somthing you learn from Shocked

if i ever take a loan out again it won't be with them, their customer reps (as helpul as they are) struggle to speak english

I dont have a bike on HP. But before you get a loan I would seriously seriously think about it.
I took a loan out, hell I had fun - 8K went on Booze, partys, gambling and never again. It caught up with me and paying out so much a month.
A lesson lernt!

Got a bank loan but not for a bike. Borrowed £5000 over 4 years at a repayment of £120 a month, that includes protection if unemployed etc.

Through Natwest. And yes I will probably get another loan once this one is finished! Beats a credit card or HP IMO! Thumbs Up

£400 a month?!

That's comparable to a mortgage!

I don't know how you can bring yourself to pay £400 a month for a motorbike, a total of £9,600.

Presumably the low APR is because of the amount you're paying a month?

Its actually a little less than 400 a month. But there abouts.
Yes its comparable to rent/a morgage but it means in 2 years I will get used to living without that 400 so I know how to live without it! And it means i can buy another bike in two years rarther than 3 or 4! Laughing
The low APR is standard for a cahot loan. Just over 5%.

Hmm let me think...
At 17 got a loan for £1300 for my ZZR at about £50 a month.
Had £900 left to pay and then needed another £1000 to put towards my ZX6R so that became £1900 which I'm now paying off over 3 years at about £90 a month Rolling Eyes

Ive never taken out finance/a loan on anything, and other than a mortgage I dont think I ever will. I have an old bike because thats what I can afford and although it doesnt look all too flash I do own it completely, and Im not paying a fortune a month in interest. At the end of the day unless you have 0% finance you end up poorer than you would have been. For what reason (those of you who have taken out finance) other than impatience have you taken out finance?
