Apparently the coming trackdays at Brands will be noise tested, and your machine will be tested /before/ being allowed out on track.

Seem to recall G being on this one? Might be worth sticking a road legal can in the van.

Don't know what the limit is, but apparently they will be checking.

Erk, erm, I presume it's just to make sure it's not over 105db?
They definitely didn't mention anything about road legal limits etc when I booked.

As I believe BEMSEE are meeting there the week after (though i'm not), I expect it will be pretty full of Racers who don't have road legal cans (as I don't).

Trumpet isn't actually /that/ loud.

They were testing all bikes when there on the 18th; Jon's bike was 106.something but they were alright with it. Laughing

Brands Hatch Liaison Group
Following the groups last meeting it was reported that next years track events will to see a reduction in
noise levels to 102 decimals for evening events and 105 for daytime track days. Next meeting of the
group is Tuesday 28th November

From MSV

"As you are almost certainly aware, one of the most high profile issues affecting all circuits at present is that of noise.

In order to address this matter and ensure complaints regarding noise are kept to a minimum, MotorSport Vision will be adopting a policy for 2007 which will entail ALL vehicles being statically tested before they are allowed on circuit.

The procedure will be that noise testing will be available from 0800 in a designated area. A sticker will be issued for each successful pass which will be checked by the pit lane marshal prior to that vehicle exiting the pit lane.

To reduce the possibility of queueing testing will continue whilst the sighting laps occur. This will allow time for vehicles to take part in the controlled environment of these laps and then get their vehicles tested. Once these sighting laps have finished and the circuit opens fully then no vehicle will be allowed on circuit without first having passed the test and displaying a valid sticker.

Whilst we do not currently impose a drive-by limit at our venues (other than at Bedford Autodrome) in the interests of ensuring that the spirit of the noise level limits are respected can I ask you to remind you participants that we do monitor drive-by levels using noise meters located at appropriate locations around the circuits.

If the results of the monitoring show that a particular vehicle is generating drive-by sound levels appreciably higher than vehicles with comparable static test results, then our staff will ask the participant to return to the pits where the relevant vehicle must not take any further part in the event until the participant has addressed the noise levels generated by their vehicle to bring it within acceptable limits. Further participation at the trackday may be precluded if acceptable drive-by limits cannot be achieved at the first drive-by test following the addition of extra silencing."
