A bike would you buy? I have seen a 1990 gs500e for around £800. It has a very low milage but all the MOT certs to back it up. My only question is is a bike of this age going to be trouble due to things wearing out and will it be hard to get parts for?
The other thing is will i be able to get a restrictor kit fitted on such an old bike? ____________________ Bikes--2002 GS500---2006 CG125(For sale, PM me for details)

thats not old for A bike. and if it has little miles then it should not need new parts if it does most bikes you can get parts for,
even my 1956 ariel !
it is 51 years old so a bike thats 1990 i think its safe to say you will be able to get parts for
hope this helps |

I bought my 1991 GPZ500S for £400 last September, even though it only had about 2 months tax and MOT left on it (hence the price).
Having said that, the only work I did before the MOT was an oil & filter change, the she flew thru the MOT
I guess I've probably been extremely lucky, but as long as it's been properly maintained, I see no problem with having an older bike. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I've got a 92 KR1s. Fairing is pretty Knackered but she runs like clockwork. Plugs need changing though. ____________________ Past - CG125 ,KR1S, SV650s, Street Triple R - Current - Duke 390
