I had one wrapped around my cg handle bar with a rubber band, in a plastic bag... bit cheeky because the bike had broken down and I'd put it on a bit off the side of the pavemnet with loads of round stones embbeded in it, so it wasn't obstrucing anyone...
It was about 30 metres from a colchester police station though, so I should've expected it... but I absolutley *had* to get the bus as my cg wasn't showing any signs of life and I needed to get home to go out in the evening.

Dan m8, make sure its the actual council who gave you the ticket, cos if it isn't the council or the police, they can't enforce it. My mum gets them all the time from a place round the corner where she parks, but they can't enforce them cos its a small business and they can't be doing with the hassle, they just hope you'll pay up Laughing

I never leave my bike unattended anyway, apart from occasionally at work when the weathers nice, and they have just started giving out tickets. Luckily, my number plate unscrews easily enough Laughing

This is true G, and also if they're waiting when I get back and see it is a small plate anyway...... they might get a lil bit more annoyed. Then when they're dished out a £20 fine for the plate and I go to leave and put on my lid with iridium visor might be a bit more pissed off and ask to see my licence. in which case they may wonder why I have no L plates.

once some prick nicked my tax disk, i saw a copper told him and he said "in future keep it in ur wallet" i said safe!!

but i still keep it on the bike dont wanna get stopped and start gettin asked questions,

as for the number plate: (stays within this room) if im goin on a long blast out of town into the countryside i remove my plate and put it in my bag! and carry 2 broken screws with me, so if a copper stops me i tell him "it came off (show him screws) and u dont want me to ride with something that can affect my riding and make me crash" maximum i can get is a £20 fine!!

enough said!

...then you'd get done for not displaying your tax disc!...typical fuzz...

Chris ("Chills", if you remember him...) just lost his (mini) plate...he was advised to just stick em on with some special adhesive...he was only going 160 at the time... Shocked Laughing ...he was told that drilling the 'plate would allow water to seep into the cracks, and damage 'em...

Just a thought...
