Ebay is full of idiots and scammers, selling a car can be serious business so play safe and go with auto trader. Put it in at a good price (everyone over prices in autotrader) and you will sell quickly.

Chuck an add on here as well!

Auto Trader is as full of scammers as eBay, I used it a few years back, the only phone calls where from those wonderful companies that apparently have the entire population of Bulgaria ready to view your car! Rolling Eyes I don't think I know anyone thats ever bought a car from Auto Trader!

The best place I've found to advertise cars is the local paper (Trace-It, Loot etc..etc..) and if the model/make of car has a busy owners forum, on there to.

I saw a bandit on e-bay, watched it, it didn't sell, so contacted the seller and went round to view, ended up with a bargain.
No sellers or paypal fees.

I've put a couple of cars on Autotrader and only ended up with calls from other Mags. asking if I wanted to advertise with them.

So e-bay for me.

Sold my 'broken' Scooby in a free ads paper.

Article was tiny, no pic, and in one of those naff ones in petrol stations.

It sold within a week, and I had more than half a dozen interests in the next few weeks too.

Bloke came all the way from Northumberland to Essex for it and payed cash, no hassle at all Thumbs Up

You'll be surpised at who looks at those small ads.

I would say that eBay is full of Del Boy wannabes.

I always sell in autotrader and buy on ebay.

Ebay is cheaper, full of people looking for a bargain or to shift something a bit below par.

Autotrader generally has higher prices.
