It's just good natured pisstaking mate, don't think nothing of it... Personally I think it was a nasty corner, no visibility as to where it goes you sort of have to hug the kerb to give youself space in case it tightens up.

I have money now , but the only place that can fit tyres without an appoitment is closed 'til teusday. such is life :

and I stacked my mountain bikes have got a badly grazed knee & arm to go with a small cut on my hand a dodgy feeling shoulder

I found I'm a lot more nutty on a mountain bike now, all the motorbike riding takes away your fear... Though I do wear my gloves sometimes and a nice thick jumper+fleece
