Hi all.
Just got off the phone to the insurance company and am *very* pissed off. Evil or Very Mad

Lying in bed this morning, I could hear a car outside having a right old mission to start. After what seemed like ages it fired up and began to pull away. Looked out the window to see who it was.....just in time to see it hit my bike that was parked next to and push it up and over the stand and crashing heavily to the floor. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Then the cheeky cunt looked over, saw me watchin and just fuckin drove off. What a bastard. Luckily I got the numberplate.....or so I thought Crying or Very sad
Went out to my bike.....smashed tail plastics, bent as fuck front subframe, scratched fairings, mirror & levers....havent really got round to assessing it yet. Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
Rushed out down the post office to sneakily get some tax....so I could claim against him....all going ok....
Went down the local cop-shop and reported it. Told them I saw it happen and the bloke just fucked off. Police were actually quite friendly...and saw I was a *bit* pissed off. They took all my details and explained that I need to phone my insurers and get the ball rolling.........
(at this point I was pleasantly thinking of a new set of fairings courtesy of Mr Cunt Features himself...... Very Happy )

Oh no, not me Rolling Eyes seems I've been fuckin jinxed this last month or so.

Got in touch with my insurers...who informed me had I taken out legal cover they would be glad to help, but as I didnt..............
Seems I'm gonna have to (a)pay for it all myself,(b)get the money out of the driver somehow (c)phone up some sort of legal aid?????Question

So now I'm left with a broken bike and no help from my insurance company. The moral of the story....well I'm gonna have to catch up with Mr Cunt Features and do my own bit of community policing.

Heres a few pics...copy and paste them into your browser

https://uk.geocities.com/kris_gb20/mybike_broken7.JPG
https://uk.geocities.com/kris_gb20/mybike_broken6.JPG

p.p.s any web-links for cheap fairings etc will be a help.
A very pissed kris Evil or Very Mad

Shitter.

Look in the back of most bike magazines and there'll be no win-no fee solictors, I'm not sure if they'll be able to do it for this, but it's definatley worth a try.... IF you reckon it's gonna be fairly easy you might want to do it yourself as I think alot of the no win-no fee solictors take a chunk of the money you get as well as their fees claimed from the other party.
Hopefully you might even be able to get a hire bike if you play it right as well... especailly as he drove

If you hassle the pigs they should have some leaflets explaining what you can do and what your rights are.

Bad Luck Mate!!
From what I know his insurers will have to pay any legal fees if it's found to be his fault (Obviously:)
So You need to contact him then them.
I think shoving his left mirror up his arse might do the trick.....
If not, threaten the right then the rear-view Twisted Evil

Good luck

The complete git that is using my registration number had an accident the other week, apparantly a car was hit but he did a runner but the car drivers insurance company has been in contact with me because the car driver gave the reg no of the bike.. so Im sure insurance companies must do something becuase you are making a claim????? Unless of course you are not fully comp and are tpo or tpft???? Sad

Yea, if you're fully comp it's in the insurers interests to sort it out because otehr wise they'd have to pay, however they don't give a shit if you're TPO/TPFT :(.

hey m8. I had a similar problem when my bike got binned by a cabbie, it was clearly his fault but my skanky insurance company who ripped me off more than £600 a year had no interest in helpin me as long as they got me cash. ne how im claiming more from the cabbie who wrote off me pride n joy. if u want i can give you the number of the Solicitor who is hanadling my claim. there no win no fee n they claim all their cash seperate to you so ur cash bonus aint affected.

Its quite a common thing, people look for similar bikes and use the reg. no on a stolen one so if the pigs do a check it all appears to be ok, plus they dont get any speeding tickets or anything.... **BASTARDS** Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

You need to let the insurance company know otherwise they will say that is a modification that you aint told em about - so they will either a) not pay out if you have an accident or worst case b) they could make yer insurance null and void cos you aint told them everything.. Sad

Hi everyone,
I've calmed down a fair bit now, thanks everyone who's replied! Wink

Firstly I'll answer your questions;

G1NGER_one wrote:

I said no to legal cover on my policy, so they said they cant help me in any way in regards to uninsured losses. Sad

G wrote:

Unfortunately they mostly only help in personal injury incidents..... Sad

G wrote:

Tried that, theyve only got leaflets regarding swopping details and such at the scene and stuff like that. No leaflets on "If the other party does a runner....." Sad

Believe me, I'm thinking about doing just that.... Evil or Very Mad

Thats me, Mr TPFT Sad They have no interest in my case... Sad

Just got off the phone to them, they don't do 'newish' (94+) NSR bodywork Sad

Yeah, cheers mate, I'm running out of options at the mo.....
Just e-mail me his address if you want... Kris_gb20@hotmail.com

Dunno where they live yet but if I send the DVLA £5 they'll tell me the full details of the owner. I think thats what I'll do if the bastard doesnt approach me soon. They cant live too far cos they park near me every night. *Really* didn't need this bullshit happening right now.... oh well Rolling Eyes

As you can see, it doesnt seem to be going that well for me today... Crying or Very sad

I've just read that Race-rep paintjobs could increase your premiums...apparently, a Rossi CBR is one insurance group higher than the "standard" bike!...that's just feckin' typical! ...but I could only afford TPO insurance anyway, so they couldn't charge me extra...it's mainly 'cos the bike will look more attractive to thieves...

When my mountain bike got nicked (not insured Sad ) the police kindly gave me some leaflets about what to do if you were involved in an accident with an uninsured driver or a 'hit and run'... not much use to me at the time though Evil or Very Mad .
I would've thought it's definatley worth trying to get the police to prosecute them for leaving hte scene of the accident.

Well the police told me that they cant do anything yet, because as far as I know he could have sped off to rush to the police station to report the incident.....Rolling Eyes....yeah right you are.

but....

they are processing the account I gave them. It has to be sent off to Gravesend or something to be given a claims number. After that I am free to chase up the claim. With regards to the driving off from the scene, I'll let you know if I hear anything. If I dont I'll be the first one at the police station believe me.

Hey, good luck getting it all sorted.

I'm sure a no win no fee solicitor would be willing to help. If not, then you could get the details of the driver and write to his insurance company personally and tell them that you intend making a claim for the value £xxxx, let them know what you've done - i.e. informed teh police etc. The driver is likely to be in trouble with his insurance company if he hasn't reported it to them.

Hope you get it all sorted easily!
