I ain't no expert, but I think you will still need it jetting, I don't think it is upto you whether you jet it or not, unless you want it to sieze.

From what i've heard, race filters give a lot of performance boost so I would guess the change in jets would be quite substantial.

Why don't you want to get it jetted??? I'm sure Keith or some other god will reply but thats what I think anyway.

Well the idea of having a performance filter is to increase performance, and without jetting it isn't going to perform for very long Laughing

The only other effect it will have is making your bike louder, which is not needed on an NSR cos mine can be heard all the way through my village down onto the bypass, and a race filter would just make me even more of a cop magnet.

u can do it your self with a bit of know how and a mate who knows what he's doing, u need to do plug chops run the einging to a high ish revs then cut it out using the kill swich , now check the colour of the plug! oily down a jet size white hot up a jet size,

obviously u need to do lost of messing about getting it spot on through out the rev range, making sure you dont get any flat spots,
But its not rocket science!

If you dont re-jet your mixture will be leaner, which will make the bike run hotter, which will eventually wear out/destroy your top-end.

Jet the bike according to how it feels with different jets. Trial and error is always the best method and your plug needs to be a tan colour. You need to be looking out for a grey or white colour which means way too lean.

Practice makes perfect when jetting, youll get the hang of it after a few tries.

Hi

Agree with the above 2 posts. However, when you do a plug chop hit the kill switch and pull the clutch simultanieously. Oh, and start with a rich mixture and work down. Rich mixture is unlikely to do any damage, get it too lean and you will probably seize the engine

A single cone air filter will add some performance, a fair bit of noise (make it sound deeper) and be a total pain when it gets wet.

All the best

Keith
