Well i went into my halfords today to buy a tomtom rider, they said you cant buy them no more if they are out of stock because the new one is coming out so shops cant order the new one in anymore, does anyone have any information on the new rider ? or i might just try and find an old one 250 for an old one or most likely 500+ for a new one.

the old one was sacked cos it was the biggest mistake tomtom made. so many faults it lost them money.

the new one (whenever it arrives) will be similar to the widescreen GOs on sale just now but expect a hefty price tag.

there are some other options available although i havent tried them myself.

if they cant repair it they replace it, but they cant downgrade you so they just give you the upgrade, well they used to,

like i said i wasnt aware they did that.

they have a "repair" facility in glenrothes but they have tons of old model GOs that they ship out as replacement units. a few people may have gone up from say a 300 to a 500 but ive not known anyone to go from a x00 model to a x10 model.

the mob i work for buy the old units off them after theyve been refurbished and sells them dirt cheap.

I cant remember how long the Halfords guarantee is, it might be a year.. In the first 28 days if something goes wrong they will give you a new one, after that they will send it off to get repaired free of charge. Thumbs Up
