Thinking of getting a slipon for the GS as a cheap laugh.

How do I fit? Do I just hacksaw the stock can off and whack the slipon on? Links to a guide with pictures would be good!

Thanks,

T

According to this:

Cut the pipes down, may need a link pipe. Demon Tweeks do all sort of assorted pipes and curves that could be fitted with a huge jubilee clip.

The standard FZR exhaust looks something similar to the GS and thats its solid from end to end.

When I bought it, it had a slip on and had a link pipe as I mentioned:

Get an R6 link pipe from a '99 bike. Cut the original exhaust about an inch behind the collector box and fit link pipe. You can then put any 50mm slip-on can on. Myself, method and hmmmnz on here have all done it, although im sure they will give you a more detailed explaination.

If I've got the cash this summer I'm considering getting a new pipe for the ER-5, interesting to hear about the R6 link pipe trick. A full Remus system is about £330 for an ER-5, so if I can save money by just getting a new can then it might be worth doing. I'd still be left with the Kawasaki Rust-O-Matic™ downpipes though.
