I usually wear jeans when I ride, but I came off a while back and realsied with the great big hole that was left in my jeans I really need something more substantial, but I don't want to wear leathers, so I found these: https://www.onyerbike.net/dragginjeans.php

Anyone got any? Anything similar? Worth the purchase?

Ta.

Hi,

I have 2 sets of the jeans, and am currently stock a large range of them.

They realy are worth the purchase!

Like i said, i own two sets. I wear one of the two most days at work, where i am running around like a mad man 99% of the time, they are extremely comfortable when wearing as a normal set of jeans and they definately do not look out of place walking around town.

I have a set of the cargo pants and a set of the Traffic jeans.

I was also sent a DVD, the dvd shows one of the guys being dragged along a drag strip by numerous vehicles at high speeds... There is a bit of a burn where the jeans have got substantially hot from the friction, but his arse was still perfectly in tact!

Definately worth it, and so much better that jeans Thumbs Up

I bought myself a pair of traffic yesterday. The local bike shop sells them but hasn't had my size in. fortunately there was a shop a couple of miles away (bridge road, Crosby) that sells them so I got them there.

They fit great. and look normal. More comfortable than most jeans. Even with the optional armour in them they look fine. you could go walking around town in them and no one would give them two looks.

They threw in the knox knee armour with the jeans. They Cost £100 in total which is less than the skin replacement would be if I crash wearing ordinary jeans Thumbs Up

That said you never really know how good your gear is until it's been tested. Hope I never do.

As Ive said a few times before, mine went down the road at 30mph and I didn't loose any skin, well bar my ankle - my fault for not wearing my boots.

2 of my friends tested them out, by dragging the other behind a bike on his arse. He said it got a little hot but it didn't wear through and this was at about 40mph I think they got up to.

I have 2 pairs and I do like them as I don't have to get changed at work.

That link appeals to me, no more than a set of textiles... they take away from the man reason they are popular...

Cheers for links.

Come to think of it, I may aswell just save. No point buying em cheap then they feel crap or don't work. Think i'll save for the better ones.

Cheers.

When I was first looking into bike jeans I did a search on here, and the overall opinion seemed to be that Hood jeans were better - more Kevlar cover. I bought a pair of Hood, and they are comfortable, but I haven't had a spill in them yet, so can't vouch for them entirely.

Thats not what worries me. Ask your friends to go out and do it again (30MPH will do) but this time drag them either up a kerb of over a cats eye in the road. Just to see the level of protection they offer then. Wink

Another vote for the Hood Jeans - Draggin's were to long for me and knee kevlar lined part wouldn't have covered me - the hoods have kevlar all the way up the front or the leg to the shin. Hoods are cheaper as well.

I quite like them - warmer than wearing normall jeans as well due to the kevlar.

Another vote for Hood jeans. Decent selection and service, keep you fairly warm, look like normal jeans, and even keep the rain off your dainty little legs!

Yet another vote for hood here, they are basically a pair of jeans with a second pair of kevlar jeans in them where as I hear draggin jeans only have kevlar in areas? (like just round the knees, arse and hip) I'm not 100% on that though. Mine are comfy, wore them day in day out when I had a bike to ride and not a sign of wear. Good company to deal with too Thumbs Up

Looking for a replacement pair of black trousers/jeans.
So which of those mentioned here (or indeed any other make) would be suitable.

Looking for a pair that resembles normal trousers.
Needed so I can turn up for work and not get changed out of them if I don't have to. Out and out jeans are a no-no. As are anything with obvious knee pads/armour on the outside.
Current/old pair are Hein Gericke. Would get the same again except they've stopped stocking them.

Any suggestions welcome. Ta Thumbs Up

H2 jean on the Hoods sounds ideal - thinking of getting a pair myself.

Think Draggin do a chino style one as well.

Absolutely accept your point. I just think the other jeans look like the £3 jobbies you can buy in Asda. Although the camo style jeans look OK.
I like the functional appearance of the Giali jeans.
