Hey guys well im looking now at either getting an aprillia RX50 or an aprillia RS50.

I've looked at a quote from bennets and it's just over £1000 a year for the RX50. Isnt that way too steep for a 50cc as the bike itself is only worth £2000?!?!?!

Now my dad wants me to get an SR50 which is one of those crappy whiney scooters because it's only £600 a year insurance, but the thing is that it's only £300 cheaper to buy than a nice RX50

Help me Crying or Very sad

What is your area like? Would it be worth investing in security for the bike, it could help you, if you are keeping the bike garaged that would help a lot.

Phone lots and lots and lots and lots of insurance companies, you will need to spend 2-3 hours, maybe more phoning around. Go and buy a bike trader, and look at the back, there is every insurance company pretty much, phone as many as you can. Tell each one what the lowest quote you've had is (I lie a bit when doing this Wink), they'll try to beat your lowest quote as they want your money.

Thats the key thing to remember they need you, you don't need them, keep phoning about till you get it as low as you want.

thanks guys, rampdale has quite a good quote so far.

Urm my area is pretty safe, it will be garaged and i think there has only been 2 break-ins and things stolen in the last 7 years in the whole area.

(In Hampshire, not rich but companys seem to automatically think you are! Evil or Very Mad )

will keep looking, is it worth going for comprehensive or only Third Party F&T?

If you can afford fully comp go for it, but it will cost you a fair bit more.

Ive got TPF&T but i fell off my bike and it makes me wonder if i had gone fully comp.

You could fall off then get some bugger to nick your bike and then get insurance, but its a bummer:)

Its up to you in the end.
