I've just waved my bike off in the big white hospital van after the rear shock decided to unattach itself this morning.... not amused!

Would having a fat bloke on the back of it yesterday make this more likely to happen?

In otherwords, can I blame him and make him feel really bad??

i made 'i can't imagine how this could happen, and how come I can't find the bolt that's supposed to hold it on' noises to the garage... I think they might be a bit worried that it's something they did (as am I) since as far as I know those bolts don't just disappear and it would have had that whole bit unscrewed when they fitted my alarm last week...

hmmmmmmmmmmm

Hi

Well, you can probably blame him and make him feel bad, but he would need to be a real bloater and it is more likely the bolt would have snapped off.

All the best

Hi

165kg is about 26 stone , so you should still be fairly safe (unless you and your pillion use depleted uranium body armour)

As a comparison, the 1200 Badit specifies a total maximun weight (bike and tyres) of 450kg, so that is around 239kg for riders, fuel and gear.

All the best

Keith

gotta be 25 stone plus between us... neither of us are exactly sylph-like Wink

cb500 with lowered suspension... even if that wasn't what caused it, it surely didn't help Embarassed

Should get my baby back tomorrow I hope.

I would expect the cb should have a fair bit higher weight limit.

Well, best (worst?) I've ever done was me and my large mate (13st and 16st) on an SR 125!!! That's just under twice what the poor little bike weighs. And I was wondering why the shocks were shot Confused

I've had me and a mate (both about 15st at teh time) on my LKR when it had a *completley* kanckered rear shock....As soo. an I strted to turn slightly the last little bit of travel went and thus handled kinda like a hardtail (not that ever ridden any hartails) with mtorcross dimensions... eugh. The bloke on the pillion actually really seemed to enjoy it though... and there weren't any footpegs either!
