Running a few errands on the bike this morning I was gradually overtaking a long row of cars and I noticed a car with it's filler cap wide open. The girl driving kindly moved over in the road to help me overtake, so I closed it for her on my way past and gave her a thumbs up Very Happy

Not really sure if she even knew what I had done but I felt good for doing it. Having never done anything similar before I didn't even know if I would be able to reach Exclamation

Nothing more, nothing less. I'll get back to work...

I recently told a taxi driver his door was partly open, he shut it and gave me thumbs up, does give you a good feeling to help out another road user. Thumbs Up

Spotted a biker at the side of the road (A55) at about 1am so doubled-back for a chat. He was really glad of the company.

I always give drivers a thumbs up if they move over to allow me to overtake.

I find myself a very fair person... If someone drives well and courteously then I'll give them a thumbs up or a toot of the horn.

If someone drives like an asshole then they get a lot of abuse that they probably can't hear, and I get a lot of spittle over my visor Sad

Its like my dad says, he rides a blackbird 1100 so hes use to leaving cars miles back.... when car drivers dont bother moving over that little bit to let a bike pass.. why?? you know the bike would leave you standing so why bother being a jumped up t.at??

I also apprechaited this bloke. Just fitted my new handle bar gripes and when putting the ends of the bar i didnt tighten one up the bolts properly so when pulling on the throttle i was rubbing the side and undoing the bolt. It come off so i stopped.. pulled over and tried putting it back on but didnt have the right alon key. This bloke comes along on this gorjuss red fireblade, nearly had an orgasam sorry to admit it. He pulled over asked if i was ok and checked his tool bag and had this alon key which fit the bolt of the ends, brillant bloke to help. Thumbs Up Mr. Green Thumbs Up

( lol @ my spelling Sad )

I find people tend to be either confused or frightened then greatfull..

Once stopped to help a guy move his car (corsa with an exploded gearbox!), a whole row of traffic behind and not one of the cunts could be bothered to get off their stupid arses and help Rolling Eyes

Stopped for a guy on an old bsa something, he said he was riding along and then the bike began smoking like crazy 0_o apparently something electrical had cooked itself! being a bsa he had a full set of imperial tools, which didn't fit the metric battery Laughing

Unless I'm in a real bad hurry I'll always stop if somebody is looking distressed by a car/bike whatever, even if i just pull along side and flip up the lid to check they're ok, it not like its a major inconvenience..

A taxi driver pulled out on me once without warning.
I flipped him the bird and called him a %uckin' pri%k.
It felt good to doing that.

Simple case of SMDSY.....

They move over wave or thumbs up, don't and i either sit with lights right in their mirrors till they do or just pass as close as possible and see the shock when they catch you out of the corner of their eye.....

I've lost count of the number of time while in a Q i have paused to let someone in from a side road only for a car to pass..... Twisted Evil

It takes nothing to say thanks M8. Very Happy

If some one moves for me to let me past I either shake my leg at them nod or give them a thumbs up.

Being a biker defo makes me more aware in my car. In the morning car park known to most at the M56 or M6 I will always move to the white line if not on it to let the bikes past.

I have how ever seen some tit in front of me in would you believe it a BMW (knew that was coming didnt you! oh and are BMW's made with out indicators cause no fuker in a BMW uses em??? Twisted Evil ) just sit there and not move despite there being enough room for a small bus down his right side. So I then drive till my bumper is nearly kissing his and rev a little. I just dont get it he cant go no where so why stop the bike going past?

I also find myself nodding at bikers when I am in my car most nod back too which is cool. And occasionally I see pedestrians nodding at me when I am on my bike I just nod back at them.

As mentioned above I have stopped to let some one out a side road too and sone anus behind me in a car has over taken me so the chap wanting to pull out cant wtf is that about!

A little change of subject here. Lmao at the cars in town. At night all these poxy cars see you on a bike and put there foot down. Poxy corsa's, which are all done up wih neons on the bottom, they think it looks good but it dont. They drive around like they would actually stand a chance against motorbikes. Like with my mate, sitting up the traffic lights this bloke in this saxo pulls up the side of him, beeps to say do you want to race. 4 people in the car, 2 blokes and 2 girls, they think this bike is an 50cc, what they dont know its an massive and megga tuned 250. Front comes up in most gears. So he geos slow and there laughing at him and all this larky, he takes it from 3rd to 2nd and he just flys off and you should of seen these saxo's people faces, it was soooooo funny Mr. Green

I always Thumbs Up to drivers who move, i appreciate that they are aware of bikes. Its good when road users help each other out, was out on a burn with the SE lot at the weekend, we were on our way to Brighton down the motorway going at a fair old rate when i car starts its hazards, we slow down a little to see a patrol car ahead. I will always warn on coming traffic of an approaching speed trap.

Years ago, when I had my RGV (the older model with a can on each side), I was on my way home from work at some silly speed.
This car was following quite close behind. I didn't know if he was up for a game or what, but he didn't attempt to overtake, or intimidate, but if I pulled out to overtake another car, he'd do the same... Mirroring my every move Confused .

Anyway, we got to the end of this bloody long dead straight bit of road (A47 Acle Straight in Norfolk, if anyone knows it) and both stopped for the roundabout at the end.
He "Bibbed" his horn at me.
I looked across (Thinking... "What the fuck does this twat want").

He then told me that my left hand can was loose. Thumbs Up

Top bloke, I wasn't even aware.

I imagine that he saw it loose. If a can isn't rigid in place it's quite easy too see.

First time my bike died (battery), i was stuck, only perhaps the 4th-5th time i rode it. I was sitting there trying to kick it over, this guy walks past with a dog sort of looking. He came back about 15 minutes later and asked me if i was ok, said he had a bike himself, told me i was going to have to bump it and explained what i had to do. You cant say people are all bad when there are a few people willing to help about.

He said it was wobbling. Thumbs Up

Thing is, it's not really the sort of thing you check before you set out is it?

I mean, who actually does a "Pre-Ride" check like your 'sposed to anyway?

1. Have I got enough Petrol for the journey? Thumbs Up
2. Are the tyres in roadworthy condition? Thumbs Up
3. Are the exhaust cans on tight? Confused Confused Confused

Was the dreadful noise muffled screams!

I suppose 'getting it sorted' meant finding a nice place to dump the body.

A white merc and blood coming from the boot - too risky Shocked

Was he?

His cargo might now be shoring up a flyover on the M25 as we speak! Wink
