The story actually says that another boy is being questioned on suspicion of weilding the knife. I'd bet it was the 21 YO they're questioning, the young'uns weren't expecting him to do it.

Ah ok, I did notice the article on the web site is slightly different to the one in the paper, paper said that the 13 year old was believed to have delivered the killer blow, or some other term that sounds equally as menacing.

I don't know how true it is because i read it on Sky News, but apparantly the girls there at the time were chanting "kill him, kill him".

I'm sorry but these little girls are just as much to blame as the one who stabbed the poor lad.

It's about time something is done. Why don't they start handing out proper punishments.

Get caught with a knife? 20 years in prision! These little fuckers need to know that this isn't the way we do things.

I've had run-ins in the past with lads who try to kill you for no sensible reason. I tend to walk away and act unfazed when being started on by any gangster wannabe, and if nessacery run aswell. These days no fight is a fair one as the scummy bastards will usually be carrying a knife.

Perhaps you should post all your opinions in the Exchange and Mart section, where I can't reply with my 'pointless arguments' that frustrate you so much?

On Topic: When I first read this story I was just surprised that the media is so shocked. Anyone living in London will be familiar with this type of violent behaviour, even if it doesn't always end up in murder. It worries me that the papers and the middle classes don't realise that this is the everyday reality for millions of us.

It's certainly an interesting one. Can't fault someone for defending their mum - although to do so in such a violent manner suggests there may well be some underlying issues in the home.

He's too young to be held criminally responsible for his actions, but there is going to have to be some kind of mental/social assessment and follow up, if only for his well-being when he realises what he's done!
