Honda NSR125

Orite, well oh yes baby!!!

Soon i can get my hands on a 125, was just having a look about at 125 bikes and i think the honda nsr 125 takes the look from any 125 out there i think they look gorjuss tbh!! now could someone tell me the ups and the downs of these bikes?? i was looking at the Aprilia RS125 but needs an engine rebuild every 6 thousand miles so thats a no go.. im after somthing which can handle milage and look good/ sports bike, and imo if theres Honda write on it then it can handle milage!! So yer could someone tell me the ups and the downs, how they handle e.t.c e.t.c, i see this picture and im just begging for Ocotober to come!!

The NSR's are good bikes, but like any 2 strokes they will need carefull and regular maintainence. If you want to get high miles without doing any maintainence whatsoever then maybe the CBR125 would be better for you. Still has a honda badge on it plus its got a meatier sound to it as its a 4-stroke.

oooh, I want it meself they are nice, better than an RS any day, also it's easy to get parts for I know a lad who today who just got a deal, two early NSR's for £200, both in bit's and could easily make one bike, I'd go for it you won't be dis-appointed.

Cheers for the reply so sounds good. I know i have been looking at the cbr125's, they are nice bikes and all but deosnt do me that much. I could be happy with them but give it a few months and i wish i had gone for the nsr125 kinda thing... there to thin and i prefer a sports bike which isnt so tny like the cbr 125, i like abit of weight to chuck around a corner. Dont get me wrong the cbr125 are indeed nice bikes but way to small for my liking. I have had expierance with 2 strokes as i own a rs50 so i know how that buisness works, i prefer having to look after me bike more then what the 4 stroke people do.

I have an NS(before NSR) and I actually set out looking for an NSR, and to this day wouldn't say no to a silver/black one at the right price if I could find space for it.(or ^that^ one )

Theres a few yellow and grey ones going about around near.. same color scheme as in the picture posted above. Been meaning to try and catch up with them and speak to them about what they think of the bike. I like the color scheme of the nsr 125s apart from the red/white & blue, think it deosnt impress like the other colors do!!

Is the honda nsr 125's like the one posted above the baby of the cbr 600 like bellow??

no, iirc the NSR is the 'baby' of the NSR600/500? someone will correct me but they are gorgeous. Love the styling.(of that and the NSR)

That NSR at the top used to be Tatters' old NSR if I remember correctly.

And, yes they are nice bikes. All I do with mine is keep the oil topped up and the chain nice and lubed and it seems to be fine.

NSRs are FTW.

miles better than a CBR125, which is just a boring old CG with a race fairing.

I had an 02 reg NSR, hated it, uncomfy, handled like a bus really didn't want to turn.

Preffered the varadero and my current gpz over it.

cost more to run than my 500 because of the distance I was doing 12000km in 6 months

It was forever fouling plugs, so I had to carry atleast 2 spares everywhere (had a faulty brand new one once)

Other than that, it looked the nuts! sounded the bollocks,

lost a shite load of money too.

Brakes were better than the dero 125 and gpz500s

In terms of speed and 'oomph' it had an equal amount to my gpz(was restricted to 33bhp) difference being if you back off the throttle and apply it again.. you've lost the oomph.. whereas with the GPZ it's there on tap.

I don't get kids in bustops going ''bring ding ding'' at the GPZ like I did the NSR.


All imo of course, I'm sure plenty of people loved their NSR.. I didn't and I'm being honest

forgot to say mine should of had new piston rings at a certain km'age (I forget) I kept checking them and they were fine, so I never bothered, they were 10000km overdue when I sold it.. I was so happy that day.

I'll admit it was satisfying to thrash.. even though it was poor around corners.

A fair few chavies thought it was a 600 too

erm underseat storage was fairly good, GPZ has none really.

out of the cbr and nsr, it's still have the nsr, because I like the 2t smell.. can't beat it.

Cg I wouldn't consider, I'd nick the unused rs50 in the garage, which upto about 40mph is faster than the varadero

truslack, look for a spares/reair NSR, which should also be cheap *nudges for ebay* loads more spares than RS Imo, and not got that 'chavvy' look some RS riders showing(trackies/trainers, hoody & lid)

if I pass my test next month, gonna be looking at a CBR/NSR250..

how much is/was that ^^NSR^^?
