I don't like to separate my keys, but I've got 2 bikes and about 5 chains plus 2 disk locks each needing a key.

At the moment I've just put insulation tape on the bike where the keys are.

Is there some sort of purse or something (waterproof), that I could pull over the other keys to stop scratches etc.

I tend to use a carabina, so that I can easily clip my extra keys on to my jacket, or slip them into my tank bag

As above, but i clip the keys to the inside of my boots on the draw string.

Only one or two, not a whole bunch before people start saying how much damaged that could cause!

I usually have my ignition key on one key ring, and all my lock keys on another, that way I don't have to switch the bike off when I go and lock the shed up once I've got the bike out. And I keep my house keys on another keyring, and usually in a different pocket.

im thinking pocket.
bike key and alarm fob only in the bike.
all your other keys in your pocket.
so you can start your bike and warm it up while removing disk lock and chains.you can go back in the house for a piss or to get your money.
at the petrol station you dont look like a jailer with 5 kg of keys.

I keep mine on a piece of string round my neck with one of those snap-clips on it. Ignition key is seperate to the others. I can reach the other locks without taking them off my piece of string.

I put the bike keys on the string as soon as I take them out so I don't loose them.

From reading posts on here, quite a few people keep the fob in their pocket these days in case they get bike-jacked. Give them the key and run like hell, arming the alarm/immobaliser as you go.

I had a little digital camera spare memory pouch that folded open like a book and zipped up. It was just big enough to take my keys and I could put all my keys in the pouch and leave the ignition key sticking out. There was a keyring connector built in so I just joined it to the keyring. Now I've got the alarm fob etc, I just carry both sets. One with Ignition, rear box, padlock and alarm fob, the other with the same and all my other ones.

You learn by your mistakes, I had all my keys on 1 fob when I had a 125 and scratched the polished yoke. 2nd time round with the 600 all thats on my ignition key is a rubber fob no metal is sight. It's actually better as I have all the lock keys, garrage etc on a seperate ring and it allows me to warm up the bike while I unlock it. My alarm fob it around my neck so to actually use the bike I have to pick up 3 different bits (well 7 if you include Lid, jacket , gloves and earplugs) LOL.

I did the same when i got my bike, i had all my keys on the ignition key and it scratched the bike to peices.

Now, i have the ignition key seperate, with a single key ring on it... then i have one of these :

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RETRACTABLE-NYLON-CORD-KEYRING-NEW-KEY-RING_W0QQitemZ140099473279QQcategoryZ3628QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

attached to the inside of my jacket with safety clips.. my disc lock and chain key go on it directly, then the ignition key clips on using a little clip that is also attached to the retractable keyring.

Means when you get off your bike you can do your lock and your chain, attach the ignition key and let it go... and it zips back under your leathers for when you need it again

Best system i've had so far... also means you never leave your keys either lol

Hi,

I used one of these Quick Release Keyrings . And keep my bike key on one part and my house/locks keys on the other, allowing me to keep them together or separate them as required.

I limit the keys that I have to purely for that Bike. House/work Keys are all attached to me (Carabina!) or in a jacket pocket.

I clip the bike keys to the Carabina when I am stopped and feel reasonably secure in not losing them. (I can lose the trousers I am wearing if I am not paying attention)

Not so much for Bike cosmetics but because I've been told by mechanics that large bunches of keys can damage car ignition locks over time and I'm not in the mood to risk it with my Bikes.

Arrow pocket
Arrow tankbag
Arrow under the pillion seat
Arrow around your neck
Arrow bum bag

Aldi are selling 4 piece tank bags for £17. I have the exact same one that i bought from them last year. You get a map holder with 6 strong magnets, a bag that zips to that, a rucksack that also zips on and a bum bag that detatches off the rucksack. It also has a waterproof cover that comes out of the rucksack. oh and all 3 parts have clear tops to put in directions.

I keep all of mine around my neck. I got a key necklace type thingy from hein gerike. I only have the ignition key in the bike while I'm riding, saves the top yoke from getting all scratched up.

Put them in a key wallet, put some velcro on the wallet and some on the headstock, velcro together when riding.
